Stern made the pick today. Now we have to hope Kobe pulls out.

They weren't going to replace a frontcourt player with a guard.

I agree with Stern picking a frontcourt player to replace Shaq but I think there are other players more deserving than Divac. Now It is up to Adelman who will start in Shaq's place. Umm I wonder who it will be??

    Dream's numbers are comparable to Divac's ... ummmmmmm ......

By the way, I would take Dirk over Divac ...

Well take a look a Sac's record... They like to reward good teams...

    Huh... funny thing.... [IMG]

Also, having Francis at the Rookie game makes ratings go up... Chances are they'll keep him there....

Dallas was expecting Dirk Nowitzki to get the call to replace Shaq. I'll take Dirk over Vlade any day.

If I were a Mavs fan, I would be HIGHLY PISSED. NO way Divac deserves the nod over Nowitzki.

I didn't know Nowitzi plays center.

Maybe we should dis.solve position-based selection, but until we do, LaFrentz got punked more than Francis.

There are 3 names that come to mind. First of course is Steve Francis. Second is Dirk Nowitzki. But how about Antawn Jamison? He avgs over 25 a game and over 9 boards a game.
I hate Stern, he is the Devil. There is already a disproportionate amount of low post players as compared to guards on the west team. And if he had to stick a center in then Dream should have went in just based on his career. Divacs certainly has not had anything close to an all star year...10pts and 8 boards a game? Please!

yeah a mavs fan from germany
i found this board when we played against you and lost badly
but i come here sometimes and read the treads
it's one of the best boards i found

dirk plays always center when the mavs go small

    I hate the All-Star game!!!

Well at least we got Cat and Swoopes to kick some 2ball @ss!

Im glad Steve backed out of the dunk contest and if I were him I would rest my "ankle"and sit out the Sophmore/Rookie game as well!

Dirk Nowitzki is a better center than Divac. So is Francis for that matter.

He he! Agreed. So is Mark Pope after watching him shut Divac down last night, block a couple of his shots, and force some turnovers. Did any of you see that game? The Bucks went with Mark Pope on Divac for some stretches in the 3rd and 4th, and Divac was dumbfounded.

That's cool Linde, I've just never known or known of a Mav's fan yet. I guess this year they'll be coming out of the woodwork.

He probably chose Divac because he wanted at least one center playing. That makes me even more annoyed though that J-Will made it.
