It will at least force Morey, McHale and our players to make the changes needed to get us back to the level we were on last year, if we can get to that.
Morey doesn't need to lose in order to tweak the roster. He operates on a plane where individual wins and losses are not as meaningful as underlying trends. With that being said, what's it going to take for the team to actually move without the ball on offense, or to actually get back and focus on defense?
That is true, but maybe with regards to McHale he will have to seriously consider other options if we keep losing. What it's going to take, maybe more losses? JK. I have no clue whether that's more on the coaches or the players, but seems to be a simple case of just working your buts off and be ready to work for each other. Moving off the ball is something players have never done much under McHale so maybe that's the system, but to me it's just plain laziness. I don't know... What we can 100% unequivocally establish is that something is not right if you do not show up during the home opener and the current champions. There's no way that is just bad luck or just not making shots etc. When you're a defense first team, not hitting shots won't affect your mentality that much. For the life of me, I don't understand how a team with a defense first mentality last year and bringing back 90% of the team is somehow now lost, in search of chemistry and not even close to a good defensive team.
Don't forget about the Fans and Cheerleaders making changes, as well as the Rockets' Marketing team changing that lame Game Intro video.
Losing is never a "good scenario" but it can be a silver lining. I agree that this team needs a wake-up call. If they have any pride, the Golden State game should be like a smack upside the head.
Depends on the change. Personnel wise, what changes do we need? T-Jones sucks, ok. But that can be fixed (hopefully)with the return of D-Mo in a month or two and the continued solid play of Harrell. Not to mention a potential trade down the road. Otherwise this is a very deep and talented roster. Unless you told me continuing to lose guaranteed a coaching change for someone better than McHale, I don't see any upside to dropping more games this early in the season.
Morey has already done everything he can as far as I am concerned. He built a team that can contend on paper. We needed a playmaker so he got us Lawson. Last year, we needed proven depth and he went out and got it. This year, we needed continuity and he resigned all our key players that were willing to stay. The performance is purely on coach and players right now.
Ya it's airing out all the big heads our team reviewed after success. I think after a MVP year, cover of 2k, players MVP, WCF, 200 million dollar endorsement deal, and dated a Kardashian, harden just needs to be brought back from space
This will make Morey work the phones sooner. We then might not have to wait till close to the trade deadline.
Too early to say... These opening losses will either be a wake up call that sparks us to really improve, or they will be a sign of things to come. I think more likely than not, it's a wake up call, but we'll see what happens.
wake up call is a phrase that has been used by too many and too often. you have to be a giant to scare everyone once you somehow wake up. i just dont see that giant factor in this houston team. none. we're mid class at best. sorry.
This. Relax. Some adjustments defensively are required. Some adjustments offensively are required. Chemistry should develop. Got to make shots and not be so predictable on both sides of the ball...
LOL ... Spoiler ____________ As stacked as the West is, they need to get it together ASAP!!! ....... ....... .......
It was not disguised at all..by the way, it's about more than McHale. Maybe it will show we need to let go of Dwight with this not playing back-to-backs etc. You cannot get chemistry when a starting player is not playing all games, keeps sitting out and if we always be inconsistent.
