Talent. You can have talent and a shirt work ethic and it ****ing keeps declining. Only difference is our roster got better

 

Yeah, it happens.

I remember the Heat on opening night after getting their rings were manhandled.

There are nights like this where a team just doesn't miss. This was one of those nights for the nuggets. Sure the defense could have been better but even when the rockets turned it up the nuggets would still drain a three.

Meanwhile no one on the rockets could hit a thing.

It happens sometimes, its one game so it's impossible to say if there is a pattern here or what.

 

I won't judge too much since it's only the first game, but man, blowout at home to start of the season is definitely a concern.

 

Because the initial post was harden doesn't have the work ethic of Curry or Kobe. Which in itself is a fair point

 

Lebron did on opening night after winning a championship.

Championships aren't won in the first game either.

 

You forgot we played poorly.

 

Jesus guys, haha it's the first game it's not like we're in the playoffs... Once Howard and DMo are back it'll be a different team, plus Lawson is still learning system. I doubt most recall but Drexler (even though mid-season) wasn't instantly perfect (obviously a sg and a lot better than Lawson but give it time). All that matters is how you play at end.

Sucks, but it happens. This team will get it together.

 

lawson was a huge reason why the nugs sucked so hard last season.

 

totally agree with this assessment.

not that i was expecting a loss. but when i heard from the local media all week long that we're not only gonna win this game easily but also cover the spread of 10pts, i kinda knew there's trouble ahead.

too many people have too high of an expectation of this rockets team. they are decent, they are good and they are a bunch of good guys. but they are quite some distance away from a championship contender.

 

If know basketball you understand this. I'm willing to bet anyone on this board Rockets lose friday. We will probably get our first win game 3. We don't have enough basketball logic to even compete with GS... we play street ball.

 

Rockets need to play well even missing players.

 

For those who are saying we should let Dwight go next summer, and we dont' need him I hope they finally see the light.
Now Dwight is needed more than ever.

This kind of game is the difference between finishing second with home court advantage in the second round - or not.

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic effort from this coaching staff having the team come out this way.

And I'm asking why that matters?

Curry and Kobe didn't win because they had ultra work ethic and spent 20 hours a day in the gym. They won because they are great players (so is Harden) who do work very hard on their game (so does Harden), on stacked teams (Rockets are loaded with talent as well), with great coaches (Rockets lacking).

Harden's work ethic vs. Curry/Kobe/etc.'s work ethic is not what's keeping the Rockets from winning. That's just a tired narrative that Clutchfans has come up with for whenever Harden has a bad game.

 

ROFL, tell that to 95 rockets, haha

 

Harden is not the same player, meanwhile Curry is dropping 40 on teams already. Weren't we supposed to be hungrier this season?
