We've been down by 40+ points in 2 of our last 4 games. That ain't mediocre, that's just bad. Monumentally bad.
You're right. It's been worse than mediocre. Much worse. Ravens have a worse record but they are playing much better and are losing close games.
Rick Smith need to be fired right now. Mallet has to be cut by the end of the day or sooner, and BOB should be given for a chance to improve the team chemistry within next nine games, then let him to walk to USC if nothing is going to be worked out.
I'm shocked that people are actually sticking up for Rick Smith. Put the practice squad QB on a plane and cut the loser Mallett. He should have been cut after pouting on the sidelines a few weeks ago. It's getting ridiculous.
What makes following your favorite sports teams is all the stupid leaks and speculation from the media. We could all be totally wrong about what's going on down at NRG stadium. For all we know, McNair could have begun his coaching/GM/QB search.
Anyone on this board could have come up with that. All speculation. If there's no news to report or no new insight, why even publish anything. sigh.
no problem with Rick Smith wanting to get backup qb situation settled before cutting Mallet, but it needs to be done relatively soon
the statement was made that you can't go into an nfl game with only 1 qb, i do not doubt what you say to be true
Yeah, I don't have a problem with this. The team has a responsibility to its other 52 players too - to put them in the best position to play well. As bad as Mallett is, he's presumably much better than the practice squad QB who has no practice working with any of the actual players in the game. Cutting Mallett on Sunday instead of today would basically just be out of spite and hurts everyone else on the roster.
While it won't be popular, it's possible that they gut it out through this week and make changes (if any) during the Bye.
