    1. Calvin Watkins hears James Harden say they got tired during the game, which is something he has had said after regular season games last season.
    2. Calvin Watkins assumes this is because the team is out of shape
    3. Calvin Watkins asks McHale why the team is out of shape
    4. McHale says the team needs to get into shape
I learned that Calvin is not a scientist of rockets.

I think this is aimed at Harden. Dude looks fat.

Tired? They're just playing basketball. They're not working 12 hour shifts in the sun laying bricks. They should get down on their knees every morning and thank God. It's just basketball. Tired? Pffft. - Kevin McHale

Completely inexcusable. I'll hold off until the season starts before saying more.

Maybe they were "tired" of preseason. Because I am too.

That's what happens when you have a "player's coach." You create an environment where players do what they like and aren't held accountable for their actions. Days before the regular season starts and players are already tired and out of shape and preseason showed no improvement or semblance of structure.

Umm guys...you kind of have to be able to participate in practice to actually build endurance...Are we going to pretend Harden, TJ, Dwight and Capela havent sat out? And that there are two rookies out there that will take longer?

That's half the team theft there.

    Let me repeat:

People have been saying that during Harden's entire NBA career. Hell, they were saying it when he was still in college.* It wasn't true then and it isn't true now. I've seen him in person (in the off-season, no less) and the guy looks pretty ripped in normal street clothes. He just doesn't have a thin body like KD or Jordan or T-Mac.

    * Don't believe me? Read this NY Times article from 6.5 years ago:

Coach McHale doesn't believe anyone should complain about being tired playing basketball.

It's the training staff's job to keep these dudes healthy, and IMO more often than not they've failed to do that over the past 10 years.

They might be a little bit. You know for me personally, I'm feeling kind of complacent about this season.

That trip to the WCF last year satisfied my hunger a good bit. The players are human like us, and I'm sure they probably feel the same way.

Rockets had something to prove last season and had a chip on their shoulder. This season, the players might feel like they know they are stacked, and all they have to do is show up.

I hope they are thinking differently and are very hungry to go all the way. Because personally, I think I'm feeling a little too satisfied about last year.

LOL. Did we not just win a WCF severely undermanned?

And we are complaining about the coaching staff aleady? You folks need girlfriends.

If the Rockets win a title, there are some hear who will say McHale didn't do it the right way.

How can the players get in shape if they are injured? duh

Most of the guy who played most of the games were cut or at the end of the bench.

I'm predicting Rockets go 0 and 7 just like that to start the season... It's okay.

There are already things that are concerning me about this team (defense, health), this surely does not help. I would not be surprised at all if we get off to a slow start.

I got a great idea..there is that "Texans" thread that anyone can go dump and go off the rails...plenty of room to do that...it has "therapeutic" benefits for anyone that needs to do it....just WAY TOO EARLY to get in on the Rockets...maybe after a month we'll talk about how great they're playing or truly crying all the way to the playoffs again
