I had to try this at RealGM for myself... here's an interesting proposal:

Atlanta trades: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 38.1 minutes)
    C Theo Ratliff (8.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 31.1 minutes)
Atlanta receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.6 minutes)
SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -6.7 ppg, -4.0 rpg, and -1.5 apg.

Houston trades: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.0 apg in 20.6 minutes)
SF Glen Rice (9.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.7 minutes)
Houston receives: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 81 games)
    C Theo Ratliff (8.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 81 games)
Change in team outlook: +6.7 ppg, +4.0 rpg, and +1.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Atlanta and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Houston's New Superstar Lineup:
    1)Francis
    2)Mobley
    3)Abdur-Rahim
    4)Ratliff
    5)Ming

That's potentially 4 all-stars on the starting squad!

I would love this trade, but why would Atlanta want to do this? Are they trying to start over? Worth a shot I guess.

Real GM is a joke, 99% of the trades would never happen

Which is the primary reason the Hawks won't do it. Other than the salaries matching in RealGM, what possible justification is there that the Hawks would give up that much talent for our three most overpaid players? Do you honestly think that if the Hawks GM called around the league to field offers from other teams that this would be the best offer??!!

    How long till pre-season...anybody?

Yeah this trade is completely unlikely, but I thought it was amusing that it was accepted on RealGM. It definitely would rival the Lakers star studded lineup though....
Yao vs Shaq--> always a good pretty even battle
    Ratliff vs Malone--> D vs O
SAR vs George--> It's all SAR here
Cat vs Kobe--> If he's not in jail (and if the Atlanta GM is high) Laker's have a huge edge here
Franchise vs Payton--> Slight edge to Stevie here
Overall, a pretty even matchup I think! :p

Wait, I have an even better Trade Proposal! Here it goes...

    Vince Carter
    Antonio Davis
    Alvin Williams

    for

    Kelvin Cato
    Glen Rice
    Moochie Norris

It will never happen, but imagine if it did! Wow!

C'mon, the reality is that we can spend all day dreaming up these proposals, and how they can dramatically improve the Rockets, but be realistic please! Also, what is the point of posting a proposal, which you know yourself won't happen?

RealGM has a food site. You can trade 2 filet mignons for 67 pounds of celery without the 15% rule for being over the cap.
