TCU's simply not that good at this point. Would be a massive surprise if Baylor didn't win the Big 12 (10) this year.

Fair enough. For a school as small as Baylor....to have their first Heisman Trophy winner...and opening a new stadium around the same time...I think it's pretty much to be expected. I was responding to a comment suggesting it "doesn't take much." I think winning a Heisman Trophy is a pretty significant achievement. My guess is almost any school in TX who had a Heisman Trophy winner at this point would build a memorial to that player.

I will be in Waco tomorrow afternoon during the ISU/Baylor game. How bad is the traffic during Gameday in Waco? I am visiting a friend in Waco.

Nice to have a bye week bc of Russell's injury. This may sound crazy but I don't think there's a large drop off going to Stidham. Him coming back for the OU game is my hunch.

Edit: sounds pretty serious. Hope he's not out too long or all season in a worst case scenario.

Talent wise there is no drop off. The concern is starting a true freshman with the tough part of the schedule coming up. Luckily the Bears have a bye week and a winnable game coming up.

Its a shame because Russell was playing so well this year.

Cracked vertebrae? Damn. Like you said, hopefully it's not as serious as it sounds.

Petty missed one week with a fractured vertebrae last season. This injury is higher up so it definitely could be more serious. I just think that he's a tough guy and young kids heal differently. Let's see. CFB is different. Our system can mask a lot of things and Stidham is a beast in the making.

Y'all know I don't like Baylor but this sucks. NCAA football needs them at full strength right now. It's a weak year.

    In Stidham We Trust.

The weapons are still there. Teams still gotta stop our rushing attack.

Briles has maintained that he's the best freshman QB that he's ever seen at 18 years old.

Also, it's worth mentioning that he's gone from 180 lbs to 210 lbs since he joined the team in January (came in early).

    LET'S DO THIS

As long as guys like Coleman and Shock are around, I'm not worried. The defense needs to step it up and continue to turn the ball over.

This team will continue to play with a chip on its shoulders. Remember that they're trying to prove it every week. Coaching is huge and we've seen guys like Nick Florence light it up. This system will mask a lot.. even a 18 year old true freshman.

TCU fans just got a little more excited, I guess.

I still think Baylor is likely the better team and still will put up big numbers, but no telling just how well a true freshman will play. Potentially season killer for Baylor, but hopefully they isn't much of a dropoff.

We've seen him in every game this season. He's only been asked to throw here and there but he's been damn near perfect. I might sound crazy but he may be more accurate than Seth already.

probably looking at a couple losses. I doubt the freshman will be able to establish the deep threat which is needed for to open up their running game.

I remember hearing all about him during the recruiting process with him. Definitely very talented and Baylor's system produces results.

As long as he doesn't get overcome with the pressure, Baylor should be fine. But once again...as a true freshman, no telling how he'll do quite yet. Tough part of the schedule coming up right now. We'll see.

Of course, you would think that. You hate Baylor and only come in when negative news is posted and disappear when we're killing everyone.

Anyway, Stidham's first pass ever was a 50 yard bomb on the money. LOL.

It'll come down to the defense ultimately. This was the case with or without Seth.

This really sucks. Russell's ability to run added a third dimension to the offense. That's what separates this team from Petty's and Nick Florence's Bears teams.

heard Stidham used to play wide receiver one year in High School so I assume he is also plenty fast + shifty when he wants to turn it on.
