He's the best of the bunch too, put him in charge of Texans and Astros while we are at it.

It's just a preseason game, Beverly has played NBA 3 years.

Even can't outshine D-leaguers in any one of those preseason games.

James and Ty makes driving to the rim look so freaking easy. Finally we have to guards who can get to the rim at ease and get to the rim whenever they want.

Going to be another great season.

The D-League players are losing these leads and the game. Our starters and regular role players with the Addition of Ty and Thornton looks good.

One thing I took from today is that Beverley has a lot of work to do. There's no way around it. He has no court vision, he missed at least three kick out passes to Thornton/KJ down the stretch and forced up something ugly. His three point shot (despite being poor in pre season) is solid enough, and I expect it to be up around 40% during regular season, but man... It is a disaster when he tries to run the offense. Contrary to what many think, I think KJ has been solid enough in pre season. It's obvious he is forcing things a little bit too much at times (trying to get regular minutes), but I actually think he is the type of guy who is going to look much better in a different lineup. His form isn't too bad. I'd like to see how he would perform playing next to Lawson/Harden + regular starters at some point. Obviously he is still raw and has a long way to go, but I think he will get there 100%. It's hard to get a firm grip on your game when you play in a bomb of a team at PHILLY then next to scrubs in pre season. Just my two cents.

Have you noticed who's closing these games? When the starters and 2nd unit play, the Rockets have routinely led and usually by a big margin(aside from at Golden State where nearly everyone sat out). When they go to the 3rd stringers(and Bev), the lead evaporates.

Remember how the regular season started last year? The starters would destroy the other team, but the bench would cough up huge leads almost every game which is why Harden and especially Ariza had to log so many minutes early on. Fortunately that isn't likely to happen this season with capable backups in Brewer, Capela, Thornton, Bev, and eventually D-Mo(or T-Jones if they swap places) on the bench.

I assume that is in response to my comment above. Naturally, having followed the rockets for years now, it isn't. It was more a concerted effort to point out that he hasn't improved his game, at all. Which is very disappointing. No one was expecting nor expects Bev to be an elite playmaker. Hell, there are few of those in the league. It's more about the basic one per centers on the court that he doesn't do or sum up quickly enough.

Perhaps it's just a case of either you have it or you don't, but after having such a long off season I was really hoping to see a sharper player than whats been on display the last few games. Granted, I am happy to be proven wrong and want to be. And it does look like he's tinkered with his release to get his shot off quicker, but the improvement hasn't come out via pre season yet. I am confident he will be a slightly above three point shooter.
