Hey guys! Do you guys know if they will be hanging our SW Division Banner on opening night? Looking to take a first timer to the game and would like it to be a really good experience.
I think some team a couple years ago hung a WCF banner? might be wrong. But either way I think they hang banners of division titles. Just need a confirmation.
You came to the wrong forum, maybe the Clippers will hang such kind of individual banners, not the rockets.
We have a division banner, but not for each year. we don't hang division banners per year. We just add the year to the single div banner list. we might lower it, add the number, and hoist it back up. don't know
southwest division should be its own league. sw division vs the nba. or better yet, any sw team vs the all atlantic divsion lmao
No individual banners for division championships. However, I do think they short-change the conference championships.... seeing them in a singular banner, akin to the division championships, is slighting the accomplishment (and pretty sure no other team other than the Lakers/Celtis do this... even the Spurs/Bulls honor their conference championships). This stems back from the old summit days... where they put each "team" sharing the space in their own corner (Aeros, Comets, Rockets, retired Rockets #'s). They still have the comets banners/retired numbers taking up a ton of space and far more "showy" than the Rockets conference championships section... and they don't even exist anymore.
Divisional banner isn't up there during tonight's game. So they're definitely adding to it. Not sure if they'll make a ceremony out of it, though.
