Still have a hard time accepting the AL thing. Fifty plus years of following the NL currently leaves me at a loss. I miss the Cards, Reds, and Dodgers.
It does mainly because I felt like I knew the Cubs, Cards, Giants, Braves, Mets, etc. And I hate them. There's a history there. I'm very unemotional about the Kansas City Royals.
Unfortunately, they don't miss us. The move definitely opened my eyes about how "one-sided" the NL relationship with the Astros was. Nobody considered them to be a fixed rival.
In a word, yes. I still don't like the DH. And, I don't care if other franchises or their fanbases "miss" us. Who ever gave a damn what they think anyway? I miss seeing the Dodgers, Braves, Giants, Cardinals, Cubs, and Mets several times a year. I would *still* love to see AZ or CO trade leagues with the Astros. The league should have never jerked us around like that. It amounted to bullying.
I couldn't believe they made us go but I like it now. I love the DH although Gattis is making me hate him this postseason. No stress with pitchers getting on base and then getting hit hard the next inning. Don't have to worry about pinch hitting the pitcher when your behind and he is pitching well. It allows us to have more pitchers in the bullpen because you don't use your subs as much. I do miss playing the Cubs, Stl and LA like everyone else. It is weird now watching the NL playoffs becasue I have no idea who these players are. Damn I wish we would have drafted Kris Bryant
But hence why it happened without much fanfare or protest by any other NL team. None of them were worried about losing a natural rival along with 9-10 intense home games where their fans are amped up to see Houston. Both leagues were more than ready for the Astros to move. Hence why it felt like bullying.
