OK, I'm making a new rule. Every time you're talking to somebody and they put "you know" at the end of a sentence, you get to pimp slap them. Next time you talk to somebody, make a quick mental note of the "you knows"...you might be suprised... you know?
Sometimes 'you know' is short for 'you know what i'm sayin'" --which is even worse. Does a 'you know what i'm sayin'?' get a pimp slap and a kick in the groin?
Can we also b**** slap everyone who like says like the word 'like' like 15 times in like every like sentence they like say? I was like, what? And he was like, yeah! So I was like, OK.
I'm horrible about "you know" and "like" in conversations. Everyone I've ever met under 30 talks like this. I guess it's because we were raised by television. Who knows. But I advise you against trying to make note of these phrases in conversation. I did that once, and I almost went nuts.
I sometimes use "like" when I'm still thinking of what to say... erm... like... etc. I've noticed it recently and it must stop. It's not too severe but I don't want it to creep up on me. Trust me, A-Train, I'm trying.
Yeah "you know" can get annoying when it's used too much. I was flipping through channels once and I stopped for a minute on an interview with Ashanti on Bob Costas - that's like all she said, "you know?" NO WE DON'T KNOW, TELL US!
