sorry for those who wants Jon Barry to be with the rocs.

DENVER (August 19, 2003) -- The Denver Nuggets have signed free agent guard Jon Barry to a contract, General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
“Jon is an experienced, tough-nosed veteran and is a great addition to our backcourt,” said Vandeweghe. “He is a tremendous shooter who really comes to play every night.”

Barry, 6-5, 210, averaged 6.9 ppg and 2.6 apg in 18.4 minutes in 80 games for the Detroit Pistons last season. He finished the regular season tied for 10th in the NBA in three-point field goal percentage (.407/87-214), marking the third time in the last four years that he’s been in the top 10. He was even more accurate in the postseason, shooting .455 (15-33).

Barry enjoyed his best season as a pro with the Pistons in ’01-02, averaging career highs of 9.0 ppg, 3.3 apg and 2.9 rpg, while finishing second in the league in three-point accuracy (.469/121-258).

The 11-year veteran has appeared in 675 career games with Milwaukee, Golden State, Atlanta, the L.A. Lakers, Sacramento and Detroit, averaging 5.7 ppg and 2.1 apg. He has shot .390 (523-1,341) from three-point range during his career and .404 (46-114) from downtown in 50 postseason games. He has helped his team to the playoffs in seven-straight seasons.

Barry was originally a first round pick (21st overall) of the Boston Celtics coming out of Georgia Tech in 1992. He is the son of Basketball Hall of Fame guard Rick Barry and has three brothers: Scooter, who played for Kansas' 1988 NCAA title team; Brent, who has played for the Clippers, Heat, Bulls and Sonics; and Drew, who has spent time with the Hawks, Sonics and Warriors. His brother in-law, Billy Andrade, is on the PGA Tour.

It looks like the Nuggets have a nice young nucleus with Miller, Nene, 'Melo and now Barry.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be glad to disagree with you on that. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. Not to mention the exclamation point.

On a more serious note, it was a good signing by the nuggets. His career numbers other than 3pt % are not very impressive but he is an excellent guy to bring off the bench. Plus that team is really young and it will help to have a guy like him around.
