Caught the reply liked what I saw from almost everyone . Capella looked quite good , stronger on the boards . KJ , freak athlete which we knew , played with aggression and was mostly controlled . Dekker , seems to have a good nose for the ball . It's clear the game is still fast for him but looks to have quite a bit of promise . TJ's motor looked to be running pretty well , with his athletisicm as long as he brings hustle he is going to be an ok backup .

Looking forward to seeing montrez play and I would like to see bev get more run with the starting group.

The jersey design still looks terrible, but the new shoulder cut looks so much better.

It is one pre-season game where they barley player. Move Lawson to the bench because it didn't change the offense having them together straight away. Makes no sense at all.

More or less agree with you. Dekker could be D though. Jones was sucking hard, but at least he was sucking mostly against Memphis starters.

is thornton's contract guaranteed? not sure he has a place on this team and would rather run KJ out there anyways.

Let's see how we do tomorrow. Some takes:
    - Lawson is going to be great for us and for those who doubted his defensive abilities, you got a taste of it already.
    - Ariza was by far the most composed, sharp and on point on both sides, so underrated
    - Did not see any improvement by Dwight, still does not understand that quick decisions is everything on the block. FT form change is not a bad thing I guess
    - TJ's added muscles did not seem to show and maybe it's the ribs, but he looked like a rookie
    - Thorton needs to lose weight and if he doesn't understand what he needs to do to make the rotation at this point in his career, I don't know what to say
    - I hope some minutes can be found for KJ, so much talent
    - Cummings looked solid, hope he makes the roster though it doesn't really matter
    - Capela has changed his FT form as well, so it seems, and it was not pretty. He shot it less rainbow like and tried to do it more like a guard, but he's a big man and there was nothing wrong with his form. He needs to work on his rebounding, way too many balls he can catch because of his height but he drops it a lot. Did not see the added strength.
    - You can say a lot about Dekker, but that guy was competing and seemed to be in position for a lot of rebounds. I just wish he didn't look like Morey so much.

Overall team looked great. We are locked and loaded to be at the top for an extended time with good young players just waiting to get playing time. Not concerned about hard cap or whatever.

Lawson looked good like his highlight tapes.

Dwight looked in good shape which is all we need to know.

Beverly, Harden, Ariza, Brewer good vets so we know what we got.

TJ still a bit inconsistent still a slight question mark.

Capela is literally getting better every game. The absolutely real deal on defense.

Dekker really surprised me for the good. Needs the D-League to get comfortable, but is not just a great white hope like we sometimes see. Happy with the pick.

Thornton looked as advertised and will win some games for us with his shooting.

KJ McDaniels is the Pat Beverly of wingmen. Coming off the bench against second teamers with Beverly and Brewer it will be a steal and layup clinic.

Thank god the summer drought for an ex baseball fan is over.

I'm agreeing with everyone suggesting Lawson come off the bench. He would absolutely kill it against opposing PGS and help get the ball rolling for the second unit. 6MOY anyone? I just don't feel comfortable with Bev having that responsibility.

I think McDaniels is versatile enough defensively to match up at the point, especially against guys like Westbrook. I'd be comfortable with moving out Bev and handing McDaniels Bev's minutes.

I'm nervous about Bev's contact. I think Morey should move him out [with Terrence and possibly Brewer] for a good shooting big and expiring/Non-guaranteed contracts.

Lost to a bunch of cookie cutters and port addicts. Knew we were gonna lose when I saw Memphis training camp. They actually run plays and play very smart.

The silver/red stripes or arrows or whatever you call them have always been terrible. if they just clean that up it's a nice jersey. doesn't les like money?!?!? it's well known fact you get more sales if you release a jersey every year even with only minor tweaks.

anyway back on topic, i really like the mix of the team. good and great vets mix with some inexperienced but explosive youth. i still think we're missing that 3&D dead eye shooter option off the bench. I'm not sure Brew, Bev, KJ, or Dekker shoot well enough and Brew gambles way too much. If KJ can find a shot, wow he'll be great.

Lawson looked great. Hope he'll be able to hit that open 3. Wanna see more lobs

Dwight looked in shape (as usual)

Dekker looked scared, but that's not unexpected. Loved his hustle & ability to be in the right spot. He's gotta stop passing up open 3's.

Thornton will be a beast. I like he's not scared and can create his own shot. I want to see more of him

Capela looks like he's got smarter, is always in the right spots. He rebounded VERY well which is I wanted to see

Wow Grizzlies rolled out a 17-man rotation last night. I'm curious to see us unload the end of our bench in the preseason. See some Jeremy Tyler VS Joshua Smith battle action.

I really wanna see what Joshua Smith's game looks like.
