TBH, if the Cubs finally break through... they'll actually be closer to just becoming "another" baseball team.

This happened with the Phillies in 1980... and the Red Sox in 2004.

While they finally break these mythical curses... there's also an increased degree of conformity and anonymity that sets in.

I found the Red Sox far more interesting when they were under the curse of the bambino... vs. where they are now.
