So I call in, about 2 weeks ago or so, to put down a deposit on renewing a mini-plan for the upcoming season. My ticket agent tells me that they will call me back by the 15th to take my order. I told her what section and area, etc I wanted my seats in and they said they'll see what they can do. The 15th passes. The 19th passes. I call in & am told, "we are going in order and haven't gotten to you yet." Fine, I understand that, maybe demand is super, super high. Then I ask if there are any seats left in the sections I asked to get my tickets in, and they say "well, if not, your deposit is refundable." They already charged my credit card for the deposit though - something that hampers my financial flexibility, regardless of how easy it is to remove the charge LATER. If the delay is taking so freaking long, call me and tell me. Last year I did not have this problem - my "agent" w/ the Rockets was prompt, courteous, and continued to check in on me to make sure I would get the seats I wanted, and to be sure I was happy with everything. This for crap seats at the freaking Summit! Now w/ a new arena it seems like they could care less. If they still haven't finished w/ even the full season ticket holders, fine, I understand, that's a lot more $ than I will spend. But if that's the case, call me and tell me that there are problems & that I might not get anywhere near the seats I wanted. Don't charge my freaking card and then have me wait for who knows how long before I have any idea of where I will be. I didn't name my "agent" this time b/c I'd rather they not get into trouble if this is a mere logistical issue, but I would appreciate an update/clarification as to what exactly is going on with the ticket situation in general.
...and a parking pass. Somehow, I knew posting this would result in some jackass(es) replying that I was being demanding, or whining. You must not have gotten a ticket pack last year or you'd understand - the difference in the way it's being handled is night & day... Seemingly unlike Kam, my budget is tight & Rockets ticks are a large expenditure for me at the moment... Sorry for asking about what's going on...
Man the same crap is happening to me. I was suppose to get a call last month and still have not received it. I am always told they are almost done with the full season tix (I have the half package) and that I should receive a call next week. Next week has turned into next month. And even this month is almost freakin over. I have friends who want the mini packs but I am told to call about that later as well. Of course they have conveniently charged the credit cards. Have half a mind to call them up and tell them to jsut cancel my tix.
Doesn't sound good...I'd be pissed if I were RocketBurrito or R0ckets03. They should definitely be treated equally as full season ticket buyers, I know R0ckets03 has bought full season tickets two years in a row.
Half a mind? Go ahead and do it. You can buy them again later when they have more time to deal with you. It's not like they're going to sell out or something. That way, you can protest the only way a company really understands: financially.
the only bargaining chip you have is to refuse purchase of the product. With as gung ho about selling tix as Les is, you would think he would have extra staff to accomodate the iflux of business. I would make another phone call and simply show your willingness to watch the games on tv with all us other stiffs
Perversely, I am now glad I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. R03 - if they haven't even gotten done w/ the FULL season tick holder, then my poor mini-plan owning ass is screwed! The problem w/ cancelling & then buying down the road is that they do seat selection by when you placed your order. Thus, in buying later I'm almost guaranteed to get crappier seats. That's how they have me by the cojones. I think I'm going to assert the presence of my cojones though, and call the Rockets with a demand (that I'm sure they could care less about) - don't leave us hanging anymore, or I will apply that $500 that Les would have gotten towards a bigger, newer TV to watch the Rockets on. I just find it hard to believe it take this f-ing long to put people into seats. X number of full/half/mini plan holders + X number of seats + software program = happy people. Are they trying to figure the seating plan out on an abacus & some graph paper?
Okay, I apologize for being a jackass in your thread. And no, I can't buy no suite. A suite is like a $200,000 or something. Correct me if I am wrong on that. I bet it is higher. My money is tight too. I live with my parents. What are you talking about. I am a poor and broke college student. And you are not whining. The Rockets organization is jacking with your money. That is not cool. Tim, for all his troubles, you better give him and more importantly, myself a suite. A good one too.
Kam, Thanks. I agree 100%, a cc.net suite is now needed to rectify the situation. In return we promise not to post inane trade proposals for 1 week, and refrain from mocking the "Big Splash" & the "Greatest Rockets Team Ever Assembled," for one month.
Sounds good. Except, I have never ever ever never ever ever never ever never never ever proposed a trade before. I can't get it to say "Trade Accepted" or whatever it's suppose to say. Not mocking other threads... for a month? That is going to be hard.
I admit. The hold-up is my fault. I'm the last season-ticket holder left to serve. But I just can't make up my mind. Should I keep my old seats or move down?? Sorry guys, don't blame the Rockets, they've been really patient with me, and have given me great service to allow me a few more weeks to decide. They are working on letting more tour the stadium again this weekend...so I should be able to make up my mind then.
Is Tim responsible for ticket sales? I'm not opposed to you (Rocketburrito) voicing your complaint about your predicament, but directing it at Tim doesn't really seem appropriate. Unless, he's known to give out suites to people getting shafted by the ticket sales department.
I think Tim is the perfect person to direct this to - he's the VP of Marketing. Unless I am utterly confused, that means his job is to market the Rockets as a product, to bring in the revenue by selling shirts, hats, and above all putting asses in stadium seats. I don't think his only role is to dance like an electrified r****d (who coined this phrase?) during the occasional fan dance. If I were to find out that the delay really was because we have some full season ticket holders who can't look at a freaking stadium diagram & decide where they wanna sit, I'll take my credit card receipt, tie it to my boot, and introduce that season ticket holder's pooper to my old doc marten's. (Side note: wtf didn't the Rockets have the feature online that the Texans did where you got to see the virtual view from your seat?)
So lets see, I called in on Monday for a 6 game pack and they told me that they will call me back next week so they can take care of the season ticket holders first. By reading the posts here, I can safely say that they may not call me till single game tickets in the next few months right?
Please elaborate Ted. Dave, if you just called in Monday, it may be Halloween before they get to you...
Yo Kam, Rockets03, I know this off topic, but I haven't "talked" to you guys lately and besides my curiosity about your season seats, I'm also wondering if you've been playing lately? If you want to email me back, send to jgatlin@hotmail.com! Back on topic: I've been wondering about the costs of the "mini-plans" like RocketBurrito is in to. I had two seats, half season (sadly, the second half) last year... But, if he's renewing, and they won't even bother to return your calls...or keep you updated, then I'm not sure I should bother. Also, I'm still not convinced that having tickets this season is such a hot idea!! I'm curious about the number of posters with either full, half or mini plans??
