Chris Boswell, Nick Novak, Connor Barth and Kai Forbath are kickers Texans are bringing in for tryouts.

If I remember correctly, Boswell had the stronger leg, but wasn't as accurate as Bullock.

Bullock had a good year last year, so I don't know what they should do. I think it's safe to say though, that if Bullock misses any more short ones in the near future, he will probably be replaced.

Boswell is one of the very few I would consider. I like that he can punt also. If Randy doesn't get his act together fast, I can see taking a chance on Boswell. I think doing it now would be ridiculously premature though.

Kickers are like closers in baseball... some of them have "it"... and some of them are great in every inning but the 9th.

Boswell could be the same amount of "unknown" till he gets a chance to actually kick in a real game.

Forbath is money from 35 and in, but his leg is weak as hell.

Boswell wasn't even accurate at Rice. I think it's telling that he's never caught on anywhere. He did miss 2 XP's, the old kind, in the preseason last year. He was in camp with the Giants this year but didn't make the roster.

The Bucs brought in Connor Barth this preseason after their intended kicker (Patrick Murray) struggled. Barth missed a 43 yarder and had a 50 yarder blocked and Tampa traded for Brindza. He hasn't been a full time kicker since 2012 but is a career 85% kicker. I don't know how he is on kickoffs but he does have a career long of 57 yards.

Still pretty good inside of 50. 58/64 (89%). Just 4 attempts over 50 though (2/4).

Yeah, Forbath's main problem is power. He's like the only kicker who can't reach the end zone on kick-offs. If he had power, he'd have a job.

If that's the case it probably won't due much for his confidence .. the kid already has that look on his face like Cushing's gonna dunk his head in the toilet for missing ..

He was pretty good last year and has been perfect this year until Sunday .I think bringing in kickers is a little knee jerk at this point, all kickers have a bad day every now and then .

He missed an extra point against KC too. He's 3/5 on the year.

Reading the first comments was amusing.

    Accurate.... right.
Strong leg.... seems like he kicks a touchback about once/month.

Texans' ST blows on many levels
