SamFisher has just explained why we need Mason or somebody like him. Most bangers in the league are/where THUGS. Perhaps thats why they bang so well -- a mean streak. Rick Mahorn Charles Oakley Dennis Rodman Shawn Kemp Charles Barkley Moses Malone Kenyon Martin Bill Lambier Rasheed Wallace Amare Stoudmire is the next in line and several teams passed on him because of his "troubled past".
You could take the criminal record of all those guys combined and it wouldn't equal that of Anthony Mason. Not to mention that that's a group of hall of famers and all-stars.
That group includes a few allstars but several who are/ were not. That's besides the point - the are all thugs on the court (sometimes off). We need some agression -- we play too soft for the west. Mo Taylor has the size but not the heart.
anthony mason detracted from the bucks, he hurt them more then he helped. he slowed down their game when they were a running team. anthony mason=cancer. no thanks
he might be a good fit... for maryland, but he's not going anywhere in the NBA. the bucks would rather put him at the end of the bench than pay and release him (and I say "release" him to put his past in the proper context). he's not very well liked, but i doubt that he's abhorred to the point that they'd do a buyout, hire a guy to fill his spot on the roster, and pay the tax on both those expenditures.. the only rationale for suggesting this? you must be anthony mason...
let Mo T and EG listen to TUPAC, NOTORIOUS B.I.G., C-MURDER, PUBLIC ENEMY, N.W.A., EAZY-E, and all other hardcore gangsta rappers and songs so they can unleash their inner thug... hehehe!
You are correct, Mason did not fit the Bucs system. However, he does fit the Rockets new system. Our team will resemble the old Knicks w/ Ewing. We are going inside to Yao like the Knicks did w/ Ewing. Moreover, like we did w/ Hakeem. Mason works well w/ out the ball. He passes well, and he's a great rebounder. NOBODY LIKES GEORGE KARL! Even Ray Allen has recently said he hated Karl. Mason was not the problem - the team didn't respect the coach. Mason would respond to VanGundy and Ewing.
Why not Kurt Thomas? He's younger and cheaper, and you can get him in trade this year or as a player option FA next year. I wish Cato could play the 4, he fills the role pretty well, otherwise. Mason and Grant are both too expensive.

Isn't the rule of thumb for a good PF to average a rebound every 4 minutes? What Mason gives you extra in the assists area is offset by weakness in the defense and blocked shot category. The team chemistry issue has already been covered by others in this thread.
True. I love Grants game. But he has a max deal. Not sure we want him at 12 - 15.5 million over the next 4 years. If Millwakee buys out Mason we can get him in the 2-3 million range for 1/2 years (until Malick Badiane is ready to bang).
I think Thomas would work well also. He's just not as physical as Mason. Mason would also be cheaper than Thomas after the proposed buyout.
