I don't think it was the best or anything but more than 1 minute of it was funny to the rest of us. The PC house was pretty hilarious with Randy. They were missing the mark for a few years until last season. So it is nice to see them keeping the momentum rolling. It was no **** Magic or any of the classics but no need to talk down on people if they thought it was the best to them though or to try to bring politics into it ha. To each their own.
The only thing is, the only reason some posters here think it's the "best episode of all time" is precisely because of politics. It's a funny episode, but 'best episode of all time'? I have a feeling that is because they agreed politically with the message that 'pc is taking over America'
As I said in my first post, I thought it was a solid episode. I was exaggerating a bit when I insinuated that there was only a minute of amusement.
Add me into the mix as one who thought it was a good episode but definitely not even close to one of the best SP episodes ever or even on a top 10 best SouthPark episode list. It was kinda representative of the series and the majority of the shows each season over the last 5 or so years. It starts out strong and then just fizzles at the end.
There was a dig in the frat house that I thought was pretty clever, where PCP referred to his frat as the "most socially active frat in America." I don't think their social commentary episodes have enough to stand up to the episodes where they just run loose with an idea. Some social commentary ones are very well tied in with the situations they use. Like the college athletes one, the easter one and this one, and probably a few from last season.
What's great for me as someone who doesn't do politics is I can find the hilarity in them bashing the PC culture and will find it hilarious in future episodes when they eviscerate the republican party as well.
I think it was combination of both the current Canadian PM and Trump. The grey hair under the toupee seems to hint at it. http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/07/03/the-tragedy-of-harpers-canada/ Obviously a very political piece, but speaks much on how some Canadians view him.
I dunno...I'm not really liking it so much so far this season. I liked the Randy / Lorde episodes better. The PC stuff to me is bleh and I was disappointed they seem to be carrying it forward. Also, you can't do Canada without the guys from Rush represented so...whatever. And, the guys from Rush and South Park are friends. So, why no characters of them still?
