What happened to this guy? Athletic, good defender, excellent rebounder and blocker, signed a 40Mil contrat and now he just disappeared? Im sure he has matured since then. I'd sign him for the minimum to back up Dwight.

Came to post this. Left satisfied. Swift, Thomas, T-Rob, Anthony Randolph, etc... Elite level physically gifted big men of the last decade that you can add to the list of elite physically gifted big men in NBA history who were complete busts.
There was nothing "excellent" about this guy at all. Did you even see him play in the NBA? He was lazy and entitled. Bulls would have thrown in out of an airplane if they could have gotten away with it. The draft pick swap with the Blazers might have been the worst trade the Bulls ever made. It will go down in history.
I would say trading a proven young player in Elton Brand for a fresh out of high school Tyson Chandler (and then to draft another high school center in Eddy Curry) ranks higher than this. Chandler went on to be a productive center but this was well after his Chicago days. The thing was Tyrus just had a great NCAA run and both he and Aldridge were unproven in the NBA. Hindsight definitely makes the trade super lopsided, but at the time it was looked to be an ok trade. I remember people thinking the Bulls did all right because they got Thomas and Khyrapa in the deal. The Brand trade though you were giving up a guy who was 21 and just averaged 20/10 for a guy who would hopefully average that.
I'll grant you the Brand trade was worse, but I blasted the TT for LMA trade when it happened. Blew my mind at the time and was proven correct. I just did not see the so-called great potential for the guy even if he weren't lazy and entitled. LMA had a clear upside.
I was going to say that. The Brand trade was more of a head-scratcher because of Brand being the sure thing and getting two unproven high schoolers at the same position was just stupefying. However, in hindsight, the Aldridge trade was more lopsided in light of the kind of careers the two players have.
They traded Eddy Curry to the Knicks for the pick that would become Aldridge and the pick that became Noah. LOL at the Knicks.
Speaking of Stro.... I was dong some research into my upcoming fantasy NBA draft, and came across this: http://basketball.razzball.com/finally-8-cat-info Mr. Stromile Swift now writes for Razzball as a fantasy basketball analyst. WTF? He never struck me as a numbers man. Neither did he strike me as a good writer. Good on him.
