Lets bring back Tierre.. way better than Mooch... i think tierre deserves a contract more than mooch... and it would be great becuz tierre comes for cheap.. I dont think he is available right now though.

Mark Jackson would be a good option at backup PG for one year, though it might mean something that no one else seems to want him.

At the 3 I like LaPhonso Ellis. Old, a bit injury prone, but cheap, 6'8, a decent defender, and a guy who played for Pat Riley for the past three years, which, to me, means he'll be able to play JVG style d.

Being a Sixers fan, I wouldn't even be seen within ten feet of Ty Hill. Notorious playoff choker, can't even make a point black, open layup. Pass.

If Badiane is ready, then I couldn't agree with you more. Jackson would solidify our guard rotation. I'm especially intrigued with the possibility of acquiring Dermarr Johnson. If he's recovered from his injury, we could get us a steal there. With our potential 2/3 logjam, we could afford to wait on him for a year or two.

    Hahaha....Alan Jackson too. :D
Well I think power forward position is fine. I don't want Shawn Kemp to be around our young guys. He's still a pretty good player though. I wonder if Patrick Ewing likes him. Or Horace Grant? Tyrone Hill would be my second pick if we were looking for a backup power forward/center. This is for like veteran's minimum.
Backup point guard? I don't want Moochie sitting on his ... all day and making 3.6 million for sitting on the bench all day. I think he is ready to contribute and play this year. BUT....I would really like to get Mark Jackson for the very minimum or Rafer Alston as well. I like both....having Alston would be cool though.
I THINK that we need another guard/forward on the Rockets the most. Rice is incapable of playing against the younger and quicker guys. Nachbar sucks. Griffin is okay but can't play toooooo long. Unless A. Griffin and Piatkowski are goin to play at the 3, then we need a....JACKSON! If not a Jackson....Terence Morris would be just fine. Jon Barry would be good too. Anybody will be good.
    Francis 38/Moochie 10
    Mobley 36/Piatkowski 12
    Griffin 22/Rice 16/Piatkowski 10
    E. Griffin 23/Taylor 25
    Yao 35/Cato 13
Signing any of these free agents will just add depth....and less minutes for everybody. We need a trade!
Point guard is fine. Francis plays entire games anyways. Moochie will step up I am sure.
Mobley plays all day too. Piatkowski is a good backup.
I expect Eddie to improve and Taylor is an excellent scorer off the bench.
Yao is one of the premier centers in the National Basketball Association. Cato is a very energetic and useFUL backup center.
Our weakest position is definitely forward...but none of these signings would help at all. Just add depth. Which is good.
We need to find the perfect compliment to Yao and Francis!

Genuine brought up DerMarr Johnson: anyone know what his situation is? I know he played with the Grizz in the SL, but where is he now? He's a good 2-3 swingman who could be a good addition for the young Rockets corp. He was a lottery pick a few years back so I think he's still got potential to be a good one.

wow, that is a great idea, assuming he no longer has any lingering conditions (doubtful, though). he would be perfect for our system, and core nucleus of young guys. i'm interested to hear if anyone has any news on him.

Getting Mark Jackson or Kenny Anderson won't be easy. The Mavs have their full MSE of 4.9 million left even after completing the 9 player deal with GSW.

I don't think Mark Jackson will get more than the vet minimum anywhere. He's about 38 years old and shooting under 40%. passing is all he's good for.

    Donnel or Demarr for me.

We need athleticism and/or length on the wings, plus these guys are sub 23--at least give us a shot a future 3.

    Rafer Alston?

You mean "Skip to my Lou"? This team needs less "And 1" style as it is.
