Haha. What a joke. Charles is a top 5 RB in terms of talent. Few will disagree with that. He is most definitely elite in terms of talent.
I'm pumped. We should see how good our D looks today. Let's see how they fare against the run. Sucks I'm at work. Brought the laptop.
Texans won't be able to run on their D. Chiefs won't be able to pass on our D. The Chiefs O-line should struggle against our D-line. Their D-line will generate a lot of pressure against our O-line, but also keep in mind that we haven't seen our starting O-line at all this preseason. If it comes down to the Chiefs running game against our passing game, fret not. Firstly, our run defense now has Wilfork, McKinney, and perhaps most importantly a healthy Cushing. It was average last year and should be above average this year, health permitting. Secondly, stop disparaging our passing attack with the singular argument, "But Brian Hoyer...". Please realize that Hoyer has 2-3yrs experience under an O'Brien scheme, and that O'Brien showed none of his hand this offseason including on Hard Knocks. In fact, unless you were a star player with a fluff piece like JJ Watt saving lives, Cushing being a guido, or Wilfork being Wilfork, then having a high profile on Hard Knocks this year was probably a bad prognostic factor for your ability to make this team. O'Brien is cut from the Belichek cloth. We are all on a need to know basis, and right now we don't need to know. O'Brien will show us today at noon what changes will be installed this year compared to last. In my mind the biggest one will be the incorporation of TE into the offense. Did you see anything about tight ends on Hard Knocks? O'Brien probably made them cut out any footage of a tight end doing anything on offense. But you look at his track record, and New England's track record, and think back to the reason Fitzpatrick lost his starting job way back in midseason last year, and you realize that tight end play is a priority for this franchise. Don't pigeonhole yourself into thinking the offense must automatically suck because no Foster and yes Hoyer. Reports out of training camp, not from Hard Knocks, are that players are much more familiar in this offense--including the QB's--going into year 2 of Bill O'Brien. Sit back and enjoy yourself today. It probably will be close, but I'm going with the Vegas line on this one. If pessimistic pundits are guessing at an 8-8 season, allow yourself the indulgence of aspiring towards optimism. 11-5 with a wildcard birth.
That's largely because of all the money coming in on the Chiefs... in the end, that's all the vegas odds really stand for (what's the one number we can make it so that the betting public will have to think twice about who they pick). If the line had opened with the Chiefs as favorite, you'd see a helluva lot of bettors jumping all over the Texans as home underdogs (possibly swaying the line enough to get it back to where it was when it opened as Texans favored). The teams are evenly matched as is.... the fact that the Texans have more injuries, a bit of the unknown "in this system" at QB, and we don't know for sure how effective Clowney is going to be are the main reasons why they're not favored by at least 3 (the usual "low" number favorite for a home game between evenly matched teams).

Great post. Absolutely correct. O'Brien showed nothing in preseason. I don't think we had, at any point, a full ground of ones in together. He used the preseason for what you should use it for - evaluating players.
Argghhh, I thought I would be able to purchase CBS All Access and get the game, apparently it doesn't stream NFL games. Is there ANY way to stream this game? I live in Dallas, but I don't have cable.
KC was 28th vs the run last season, but were without Derrick Johnson (LB, only played 1 game) and they added rookie Nunez (DL) who supposedly beasted the preseason. They also drafted a couple of LB's. Never let work come between you and a game #fakefan Surprised the game isn't on with no simultaneous Cowboy game Distribution map shows it is
This should be fun.

Chiefs tackle Eric Fisher expressed concern about his high ankle sprain to team, Jah Reid expected to line up right tackle against J.J. Got to hold on till Foster gets back... I'm not positive the offense can do enough to beat KC without Foster... I think the defense is going to have to make some plays to win it.
Sometimes I question why I work this job. It's an every third weekend thing. Football season brings it into question. Trying to get moved to third shift for the season. But then I remember that if I get fired for watching the game, it's no loss. And also, I've been to Houston to see the family, to Cozumel for an all inclusive, to Vegas, and I'm about to do a cruise...all in a year. This job helps me justify doing that many trips in a year. Either way, I'm pumped watching the game. Just may not get to see every play, which sucks. If they cut my ability to stream, and I'm still working this shift, I'll probably quit to be honest.
The Chiefs aren't happy with the condition of the field here in Houston. This is one seam... http://espn.go.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0434726067324852740-4 …
Charles is a top back in this league but on today on our turf he won't be elite. Watt, Vince and Cushing and the lynch mob will shut that nonsense down today. Let's go Texans!
That is absolutely awful. Can you imagine if someone else has a Clowney type injury on it. Especially one of our stars.
It would probably take Watt shredding one of his knees on that garbage field for them to do something about it.
