I am not a Trump fan at all but voting third party is basically like not voting at all. We have to have someone to reign in the insane spending of the government. I am not 100% sure Trump is the person to do that but I do know 100% for sure that Hillary is NOT the person to do it. I will vote for Trump if he gets the nomination but I highly doubt he gets it when the real primaries start. Give me Ted Cruz please!!!!

With the Electoral College system, voting for the main parties is also like not voting at all. And as a matter of fact, even if we picked our presidents with a direct popular vote, the presidential election is such an efficient market that all voters are price-takers who effectively have no measurable effect on the outcome. So, it could be said those votes wouldn't really matter either. Singular votes won't change the 'market price' for the presidency. So what does matter? Campaign dollars and marketing that can change the behaviors of whole groups of voters. Political organizations that can direct whole groups of voters. And candidates that can lead whole groups of voters. Third party candidates may not have any shot at winning, but they have more influence on outcomes than singular voters trying to pick the lesser of two evils. In that regard, your vote might actually do more work toward your own goals if its given to a third party candidate you like.

Would be interesting to see the results if it wasn't a public vote.

I'm willing to bet there are a LOT of folks who would take a bucket full of snot over Clinton, but don't want to show any public support for someone like Trump.

No f***ing s*** you would vote for Trump. The very comments you made in the opening post gave that away.

I'm glad you think this is all some sort of reality show. No wonder Trump, a despicable canker sore excuse of a human, has become the presumptive nominee.

If you vote for one of the 2 major party candidates you are voting for a liberal, if I vote for one of them, it'll be the least likely of the 2 to start WW3 or attempt to permanently seize power and reign as a dictator and that's Hillary even if she's a joke of a candidate herself.

When it comes down to it, I might still vote Gary Johnson, but as of now I'm leaning towards voting straight party Democrat. There's just no way I could make myself vote for the party of Trump or anyone who supports Trump. It's just something that automatically disqualifies from being deserving of holding elected office at any level.

Disagree and hope you change your decision on this.

Of the 17 Republicans who started this race, Trump was my 17th choice (Kasich was my No. 1 pick). However, we stand a chance for government reformation with Trump. With Hillary in power, we will have a female Rasputin -- willing to sell out our country for any amount of money. In her mind, like Scrooge McDuck, she can never have enough gold pieces -- not until she has them all. Maybe that's because she feels she was born poor.

Another selective criticism I don't understand. Hillary will sell us out for her own benefit, but somehow Trump will not?

Trump might, but, with Hillary, the chances are far greater, actually to the point of certainty. Trump likes making money, but even he realizes enough is plenty. With Hillary, there is no "enough."

See, and that's my problem, you just said that even you think Trump "might" sell out the country for his own benefit.....yet you still support him? I just don't think anyone that you even might think would do that is worthy of your vote.

The whole bit where you rationalize voting for someone who is awful simply because of what party they represent or who they are running against is just something I can't do this time around. I'm REALLY glad that I'm out of the military because I can't see respecting either of these turds as commander in chief. The presidents I had to deal with while in were bad enough.

I keep thinking that the major party choices for president can't get any worse but the Donkey and Elephant show keep surprising me by lowering the bar every single presidential cycle without fail.

Any President we elect "might" sell us out.

This year we just have to hold our respective noses and vote. Voting for the Libertarian or Greenie candidates is merely not voting. In this case Trump is the lesser of two evils. Either Trump or Hillary will be President. Hillary may not be as inept as Obama but she exceeds even his duplicity.
