We can't offer him more money. We can't even guarantee Harden and Westbrook will be here and we'll be competing. He's 34 years old and a 13 year vet so there is no big future contract to play for. What's the difference to him how many minutes he gets at this point?
Jeff green isn’t a fit everywhere. His last two stint before he signed with Houston were disappointing. He was probably on his way out the league if he didn’t have a good stint with Houston. But I don’t blame him if they offered more but learn from Josh Smith. He left Houston after revitalizing his playing career and went to LA and said he regretted because he couldn’t find minutes or a consistent role there. Jeremie Grant left Denver who offered the same amount of money because he was Ted his role expanded and consistent. It’s not alway worth the money if you’re role decreases and kils your value
Meanwhile Houston’s over here with a significantly worse team than last year and last year they were what 2 games away from 7th. Easy decision.
Well yeah if he wants to win a ring then it is a good move. If he wants solid playing time then it is a bad move. Green has had issues his entire career trying to find steady minutes. That changed here. I think he does get lost in their rotation.
@YOLO and @ksny15 out here trying to bring down the vibes. dont let them do it, lol. Rockets got Christian Wood. Jeff Green is gone but there is still hope.
Why should I be overly giddy with Wood? We lost Rivers, Green and Roco. 3 guys who contributed in big ways. We replaced them with 1. Harden doesn’t want to be here. The other contenders in the West have improved. Some by a lot. This team is worse than last year. And last year they were not all that great.
Last I checked someone who doesn’t want to be here is just a waste of time and one of the worst things to have in professional sports
Sorry to see him go elsewhere. Green really produced for us during the playoffs. I wish him well, except when we play the Nets. Adios, Jeff.
Rivers was a non factor in the playoffs. Roco was replaced by a younger Wood who might fit better with Russ and Harden and a couple of picks. Jeff was good in the system, but he was another off the couch player the Rockets once again saved from obscurity. Rockets currently have House and Ben, two players that were on the brink of unemployment too that have become good players. Rockets can find another player to fill the need like they have done so many times before. just calm down for second.
