rumors: rockets taking interest in trading for Daniel Theis

Good! One positive thing is that Silas likes centers and is actually willing to mix it up in terms of old school big men and outside shooting. Hope we can pull it off and we can bid farewell to Olynyk.

They can't play 48 minutes a game. Theis is pretty horrible. He's not going to be taking shots away from anyone. The one thing he will do is play some defense and maybe get a couple of extra offensive possessions for the younger guys. I think he's perfect for this team. Olynyk should be somewhere with playoff aspirations.

 

I like Theis as a second option if they aren't planning to bring back Kelly O. I would love for @Os Trigonum to have the honor of creating the appreciation thread of Kelly and welcome our new overlord, Reggie Theis.

I was very confused.

 

Bruh what makes y’all Think we’re going to throw all our 19 year old rookies out there like that this season.
It’s rare for team to play more than one 19 year old minutes in a season.
Green is the only guaranteed to get heavy minutes and even that will behind Wall(unfortunately)

Sengun is considerably more proven than Green, if one rookie is guaranteed to get minutes, it should be him.

I personally think both will get decent minutes this season

Buyout gets even worse next season. And worse still season after that.

 

This would be good for multiple reasons.

1) Theis would be a great mentor for the two rook European bigs. How to acclimate to the league as an international as well as helping those guys grow defensively, specifically Sengun.

2) This would preserve the MLE to go after another vet rotation player, as well as potentially lock up a young player on a Hinkie special deal (4 year deal, only the first year gtd).

3) This would open up S&T pathways for Olynyk, which would allow him to get paid, find a spot where he can contribute/contend, and obtain an asset for the Rockets.
