So Ive seen several college-related threads the last couple of days and thought I would send this along, since I know there are quite a few texas state alums on the board. This past Monday, the old pike house was set on fire and was completley destroyed. The San Marcos Police have arrested two people in connection with the case. The building was some kind of hospital or mental institution many years ago, and was rumored to be haunted. I don't know about it being haunted, but ive been in the building at night several times with friends (drunk of coarse ) and it was very creepy. It was a very significant peice of San Marcos history, and it has been taken away by two arsonists. Pretty sad stuff.
although i'm sure it was probably pretty delapitated even while they lived there, that was one of the coolest fraternity houses i've ever seen, and the only house at swt that really resembled a true fraternity house.... damn shame. i've wandered that place many a time myself. the stories of some of the field day parties the pikes threw that the older alumni in my chapter would tell us about made me jealous.
