And if they get blown out or are blowing out another team, they have to waste one of the few pitchers the Astros have that can get outs in a useless outing. Also, if they go 13 pitchers, Taylor Jones (assuming he's the guy down at the moment) is just picking up service time riding the pine instead of being developed in CC once they resume workouts there. Getting pitchers rest in a blow out is more important than getting a bat some rest in a blow out. Also, Baker is more likely to start Jones over a better player than he is to put Biagini in a high or moderate leverage game.
