Name your top favorite 10 bands with an explantion of why.. and if you want, add in a info of yourself so we can see what age group likes which type of music

    Im 18 of course :p

    1. Iron Maiden- I heard their song "Wicker Man" and Ive been in love with their vocals... classic
    2. Metallica- Amazing riffs, amazing music
    3. System of a Down- Very meaningful music, has the best vocals in my opinion.. too bad they split
    4. Bullet For My Valentine- New metal band, has good vocals and decent riffs, their music is appealing however
    5. Incubus- Very calming music
    6. The Beatles- Their songs are often slow but thats what makes them so good. They revolutionized Rock and their work will always be remembered
    7. Queen- I heard them first when I heard Bohemian Rhapsody, I thought they were very creative.. made songs like We Will Rock you, Another One Bits the Dust, We Are The Champions...
    8. Trivium- Not alot of people know this band, theyre heavy metal with screamo vocals but in their new album, it reminds me ALOT about what Metallica was..
    9. Saosin- I dont know, I just like them lol
    10. Pantera- Another great heavy metal band

Replacements....when rock and roll was still simple and drunk.
E.C. and the Attractions...any musicians less gifted than these guys would be just any other band.
The Pixies....should have been bigger than Nirvana
    Rolling Stones
    The Police
    The Spinners....greatest R&B band. EVER!!!
    The Led Zeppelin
    The Smiths
    Steely Dan

    10th spot always changes.....

You can tell your 18 when the only band you feel you need to explain who they are is Queen (no offense I wish I was 18).

I dont think they actually split. It's just more of Serj and the other guys wanting to look at other projects for the time being. I've heard they'll be back together in the future.

    No particular order...

    A Perfect Circle/TOOL
    Pearl Jam
    Bush
    Our Lady Peace
    Incubus
    Counting Crows
    Metallica
    Coldplay
    Saosin/Circa Survive
    Guns 'N Roses

I'm sure if I really sat and thought about it, a couple of those bands would get replaced, but that's it for the most part.

I'll try but I don't know if there are that many bands I really like. Also, this is more of a current list, not what you would call 'All-time' type of list. Otherwise you'd see things like Backstreet Boys, Savage Garden and Limp Bizkit. I'm 20.

    1. Within Temptation - the music is very rich for a lack of a better word (genre symphonic rock), but above all, the lead singer has the best voice of any I have heard, truly astounding.
    2. Linkin Park - if not for M2M, they may very well be No. 1. They're so well known that I don't think I have to explain really.
    3. Evanescence - poor man's WT.
    4. Metallica - I find it remarkable that a band can be making music for so long. Like some of their old stuff, like their new stuff. Love the 90s stuff.
    5. Rammstein - German metal(?)group. Don't understand most of the lyrics but sounds good. Not that much into their newer stuff.
    6. Guano Apes - although I can't make any sense out of their lyrics, they sound good regardless. Besides, any woman that can sing lullabies on one moment and then be mistaken for a man the next one deserves recognition.
    7. The Rasmus - can't explain. Finnish rock (maybe even pop) band. Just really like most of their songs.
    8. Limp Bizkit - CSF&HDFW is the only album I really liked but I liked it a lot. I can listen to it to this day which is not true with the majority of bands I liked years ago.
    -----
That's it really. If I really needed to round out the list, I'd say Styles of Beyond and System of a Down.

As you can see, I'm not into this old 70s, 80s stuff for the most part. I may like some songs but that's it. Unlike SuperBeeKay, I would never think of listening to dozens of Beatles, Iron Maiden or Queen albums.

I also find it hard to listen to older albums of some bands/musicians I get to know about only now. I don't know why, probably because rarely do I find the previous albums to be better than the one that got me hooked. Take SOB, for example. Loved Megadef, but couldn't find a single song I liked on Fold. I guess it's the reverse of Linkin Park scenario. Had I liked M2M, I'd probably not be so much into Hybrid Theory and Meteora.
