C: Got to go with Yao PF: Mo SF: I would love to see Eddie here. SG: Cat PG: Do I really need to say this...Franchise! Agree or disagree? I can also see Cat coming off the bench as a spark for Glen Rice?
C - Yao Ming PF - Mo Taylor SF - Glen Rice SG - Cuttino Mobley PG - Steve Francis Griffin and KT would both get time at SF and PF, while Cato would spell Yao. Mooch backs up PG, and Oscar backs up SG. The only other player to see time, would be Nachbar....the rest of the scrubs can grab some pine..BUB !! DD
I see where your coming from but if Griff works on his ball handling skills it would be good to put him in the middle with Yao and Mo against the Lakers perhaps or big teams like the Mavericks? Just something to think about.
I agree with Dakota too, but I have a couple of questions. Who starts at PF the first five games? Does Mo immediately start after his suspension is up? Who starts at SF when Rice gets hurt and is out for the remainder of the season?
I think the fact Mo is out the first 5 games will make training camp extremely competitive between KT and EG. I don't think Rudy will just hand KT the start just because he did last year. Of course they both will see plenty of time during that stretch.
c- yoa pf- mo sf - rice sg- cat pg- steve i agree with the rotations of DaDakota but I seriously think they will never put Griffin in as a small forward, he doesn't have the ball handling skills
I'd go with Youth Early and then bring in some vets to beat up on other teams scrubs... Start C Ming PF Griffin SF Boki SG Mobley PG Francis 1st off bench Taylor 2nd off bench Mooch 3rd off bench (tie) KT & Rice Wild card Cato I think I'd try Griff/Tayor backing up Ming if the match up was right. Against larger lineups Cato would obviously get more time. (Can you tell I'm excited to see our new players get on the court?)
1st 5 games: C - Ming PF - KT SF - Rice SG - Cat PG - Franchise 1st off the bench: EG ( PF, SF, or C minutes) Cato ( C ) Boki ( SF & SG minutes) Mooch ( PG ) after that ( and depending on injuries...if any occur) C - Ming PF - MoT SF - Rice SG - Cat PG - Franchise 1st off the bench: EG ( PF, SF, & C minutes) KT ( PF & SF minutes) Mooch ( PG ) Boki ( SF & SG minutes) Cato ( C ) Against certain teams EG may very well be our backup center with Cato getting less and less time. KT apparently has slimmed down even further and may log more minutes at the 3 ( especailly if old man Rice breaks down again). Mooch will come in & slide Franchise to the 2 and give Cat more rest and keep him fresh for the 4th quarter. Boki will be able to play the 2 against certain teams as well but not all the time.
I agree, the young starting 5 should be and have many years together! Francis, Mobley,Nachbar,Griffin and Yao Ming.0r TheFranchise, the Cat, the Dunker, the Eagle and the Dynasty.
If you watch NHL then you know that Eddie Belfour's nickname is Eddie the Eagle. That is the only conection that I can make.
Starters: Center: Ming Power Foward: Taylor Small Foward: Rice Shooting Guard: Mobley Point God: Francis (Mooch subs when Nachbar gets on court)/(Francis moves to the 2 spot) 2nd Center: Cato (More mins than Ming till his conditioning gets better) Power Foward: Griffin (more mins than Taylor) Small Foward: Nachbar (more mins than Rice) Shooting Guard: Francis (Torres may sub or Mobley if not fatigue) Point: Mooch
1st 5 games Cato...KT....Rice....Steve and Cat Midseason Yao...MoT....Rice...Steve and Cat End of season Yao....Griffin....Rice....Steve and Cat
Before Ed Belfour was Eddie the Eagle, there was a British ski jumper named Eddie the Eagle. I'm sure there are others as well.
Boki will be the starting 3 by the end of the season and MoT will be the starting 4 as long as he is here and healthy.
So you're saying we must trade either Maurice or Eddie after next season? There's no way we keep Eddie coming off the bench for any longer than one more season. If that's all we're going to do with him is play him off the bench until he leaves for another team where he could start, we should have just traded him for Lewis. I think there's only 3 plausible solutions to our power forward dillema next offseason. They're rated from most desirable to least desirable. 1.) Trade Maurice 2.) Tell Maurice, sorry you're coming off the bench 3.) Trade Eddie I don't think that keeping Grif to come off the bench for the five or six years left on Maurice's contract is a viable option.
