I just heard "Master of Puppets" the other night and was thinking, "DAMN, this song is long!" It's cool, though, because it doesn't feel like a long song. I was too busy pumping my head up and down and jamming on the air guitar, the song could have lasted for 20 more minutes and it wouldn't have mattered...

What are your favorite long songs? To avoid confusion, I'll say "long" is at least 6 minutes.

A few of my favorites:

Master of Puppets (obviously)
One (another Metallica classic)
November Rain - Guns N Roses
American Pie - Don McLean
Albuquerque - Weird Al Yankovic (a song only Weird Al fans could appreciate)
The Humpty Dance - Digital Underground

I'm sure there are more...

guns 'n roses - november rain
guns 'n roses - sweet child o mine
metallica - one
metallica - ...and justice for all
metallica - master of puppets (basically the whole album consists of great songs at around 6 minutes or longer)
Bob Marley - Exodus
Eagles - Hotel California

All time worst long song? Freebird, if only cause it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo damn overplayed.

All time best long song? Three way tie for me between:
Idiot Wind - Bob Dylan
It's All Right Ma, I'm Only Bleeding - Bob Dylan
Visions of Johanna - Bob Dylan.

Oh, and Desolation Row - Bob Dylan.

Guess it's a 4 way tie then.

Oh, and MadMax: LOL. :)

Is it just me or does Yao Ming look like Morrissey from The Smiths at certain angles?

dylan,

You didn't mention Hurricane.

------------------------------------------------
Humble Pie

I Don't Need No Doctor

Jimi Hendrix did a live cover of Gloria that probably qualifies......but I am unsure of the run time. Finn* knows the answer.

Black Sabbath

War Pigs
N.I.B.
Fairies Wear Boots
Iron Man
Black Sabbath
