Man...what a thread. For what it's worth...i was at the taj majal in 1989 and it was awesome. Indian trains are something to expereince too...You gotta enjoy and experience what's there at the time. Can't dwell on what could have been. There's beauty all around us. Today. Just last night, we had dinner on the beach. Watching the sunset...tossing stones into the waves with my 2 year old. It was pretty cool indeed. Keep it coming guys...i'm planning my next trips!
"turns out not where, but who you're with, that really matters." -- dave matthews i have found this to be immensely true for me. i'd take time with my family or great friends...great conversation...over staring at some beautiful landscape any day. my son's birth riding in the limo after my wedding going to games with my dad riding through the desert as a kid on family trips listening to sinatra in the backseat saturday morning with my sister growing up as a kid...eating pancakes...watching Scooby Doo...and doing the same with SpongeBob with my son. when i die, i think these are the events that will flash through my mind.
Amen. The two I posted were with family and friends. I just had an awesome time in Tyler freaking Texas this weekend. That wouldn't have been the case without my family being there.
Superdome, 1992 when the Alabama Crimson Tide, in their 100th year of football, won the national championship and beat down that gang of thugs. Just thinking of Teague steals the ball just sends a chill up and down my spine. I was on leave, my Dad had tickets and it was quite a party on Bourbon Street that night!
MadMax, you're spoiling the mood of the thread. Places can't compare to the "birth of a child" or the "fisrt kiss," or "fishing with dad." P.S. Check the thread title.
So many! Old.. Watching scuba divers in Barcelona dive for squid in the 1969. Brought them right up to the dock and cooked right there in front of you. Watching bull fights from the balcony of our apartment in Madrid in 1969. Riding camels in Morocco in 1971. New... The cabin we stayed in for three different summers on Moosehead lake, Maine. Seeing the Musée d'Orsay, Rodin Museum, Jim Morrison's grave and the Eiffel Tower on hash in Paris 2001. My new weekend home in the Catskills!
