I agree. JVG has yet to ascend to the plateau of his predecessor (Rudy) or his mentor (Pat Riley) let alone a basketball demigod such as Larry Brown.

Finding a power forward that can play good (if not great) on both ends of the court will help the TEAM much more than the "upgrade" of TMac for Francis. People seem to think finding a PF is going to be easy, but who do we have a legitimate chance to sign? It's nice to day dream about signing Brent Barry and McDyess, but I really don't think CD can put together an offseason run like that.

After one season under JVG, it's hard to say which players have finished adjusting. I really think Mobley just had a good year, as players do from time to time. Although he made more this season, watching Mobley jack up stupid shots with time on the clock frustrates me just as much as any Francis turnover. If Francis doesn't improve after next year, then I will concede that he doesn't fit. If Mobley plays as well next year as he did this year, I will eat my hat.

If the Rockets are serious about winning, they will upgrade the PF, TMac or not.

Francis has had two seasons with Yao and it should be obvious to most that he is not the type of team player that JVG needs in the starting playmaker point guard position.
