I know it's not your intended purpose but please don't bring garbage to GARM. Entries for MOF, TOF, MJOF, and YOH can also be created on urbandictionary.com without a sweat. You don't want to see this site to turn into a circus-like pissing match, do you?

sorry, maybe it should be moved to the hangout. Did not intend to start any pissing matches, I just thought it was interesting because I thought the term was coined here. Maybe it wasn't.

Guilty of calling you out? Sure. YOF? Don't think so. What are you, a YOH?

No. I'm a Houston Rockets Lover. That includes Yao, he's part of the team.

I apologize, but compared to the other responses in this thread, your response was an attacking one. I'm not sure why you got so defensive. Let's drop it. The UD definition is hilarious IMO.

I guess it's pretty easy to be amused when one is not a perceived target of stereotypical joke. I agree with you this could be a fun thread in Hangout, especially with a few competing entries I mentioned above. But I just don't see how this is a good topic in GARM. Glad you are on the same page as I am. If my posts come off as offending, my apology.

As the person who was the first to be called a YOF I want to tell you that I am from England and living in San Antonio.
I am a Yao Ming fan but love the Rockets team and have for about 24 years! :p

Well anyone can add entries into Urbandictionary, so it's a pretty safe bet that whoever added that term, reads/posts on this site.

i don't think the definition is very accurate. it seems to me that, people will call anyone a YOF when he/she talks in favor of yao. but according to that definition, YOF does not follow sports before yao. which is not true for a lot of YOF. for example, i am a big fan of basketball ever since i saw Rockets swept the Magic in the finals. when no one know yao ming at all. also, i am a big soccer fan. when i was 8, i watched world cup over night and skipped school the day after. and i'm also a big packers and anything badgers fan. so ya. the part about not following sport is not true.

i would categorize myself as a YOF. if yao is not in houston, i wouldn't be a fan. but honest, if the team is not doing well, yao should take part of the blame. so i think the definition on urbandictionary is very negative about YOF. a lot YOF are die hard sports fans who follow rockets after yao ming was drafted.

YOFs are abundant on the ESPN board and that's where the biggest homer aka HUANG lives. Even the article give props to him "Huang is an annoying YOF."

I used to post on that board a few years ago when Clutchfans wasn't free. It was a mess back there with trolls and spammers the most notorious of them a fellow by name of daddy.

BTW what do have to do to get membership upgrade so I can post new topics?

The guy who wrote that definition on UD is a knucklehead.
