While everyone's discussing the issue between JVG and SF. How do you think what Yao has been thinking? I know he's a nice guy and team oriented, but would his patience running out someday soonish and really getting pissed off at SF? That would be ugly, if so, who would houston keep?
Yao really isn't asserting his personality, even though they aren't compatible on the court. I don't see him demand the ball or tell anyone what to do. So I don't see any flareups happening.
Well I'm sure Yao will remember all the times the ball was passed to him, and the defense stripped it away, or that he didn't dunk it when he should have, and lost the ball, or all the times that he's been knocked around out of position, or that he he's been too tired to run back up court. Then Yao remembers those times he will be thankful of Steve's patience with him, and know that it goes both ways, so he won't really be angry at all.
have you noticed Yao pushing players on defense?? lol, he keeps pushing EGriff to guard up kinda funny!
where's mr meogi, we need him to teach Yao patience and to wax on and wax off. seriously, thats up to Yao. If he wants the ball he has to act like he wants it more. right now, on offense, he still acts like he's waiting on someone to change his diapers.
Geez people! Yao and Steve get along great. I know this article has already been posted, but here it is again for those who refuse to acknowledge it: http://www.sportsline.com/u/partners/aol/index.html?http://www.sportsline.com/nba/story/6711426 Look! They're bonding. They're growing as teammates and friends. Get over the fact that you people WISH there was a freakin' feud going on between them, because there's NOT!!!!!!
Have you seen any pre-season games? I haven't, so this wasn't a challenge, it's an honest question...because in the Asian Championships I saw an entirely new side of Yao, where he was really demanding the ball, really being assertive, and commanding, and I was hoping it would carry over...but I haven't seen any of his time with the Rockets, so I don't know.
Exactly where my thoughts were originally from. It is understandable Yao is still not assertive right now. But it does not mean he will be like that forever. Every player has his ego, Yao is NOT an exception.
Yao and Francis are buddies. There is nothing coming between them. I think there is something between Francis and Mobley thinking that Yao will breaki Francis and Mobley apart... I can see it in Mobley's eyes... and it ain't pretty.
jilted lover? jilted teammate? 7'6" vs. 6'4". most women would pick 7'6". 6'4" just can't fill it up as well.
I was going to post that very same thought in another thread... I have yet to see the Yao from the Asain Championships. The clips that I saw showed Yao actually pushing smaller players around and I was estatic. That Yao (to my dismay) has not showed up yet. Hopefully he is just getting acclimated to being back, but I hope I see that aggressive "I'm biggern' you" Yao soon. It has only been a couple of pre-season games.
Well, Yao did say he is tired and ONLY 60% phycially ready. Hopfully he will be 100% ready when the season begin.
Yeah, I have seen large portions of the games. While he is a lot better than last year, I still wouldn't call him very aggressive. Cato is clearly more aggressive on the boards. I'm not complaining, I think he's doing fine. I just don't think he is going to scream to Steve "give me the ball!"
its the damn preseason. i am sure Yao will bring it when the real season begins. i am sure Yao is patient with Steve because he is thankful for all the times Steve has been patient with him when he got stripped , didnt dunk when he should have, and missed layups. Just like Steve is greatful for Yao being patient with him when he doesnt pass the ball, goes into iso mode, and dribble between his legs a million times waiting for the shot clock to run out then jack up a long three pointer and miss. It goes both ways . Thank god they are not divided like some people wish they were, otherwise we are screwed!
Hey, man... it may be a quality vs. quantity kinda thing, you know? But, nice try, either way... I can see the comparison.... I know what you meant.
I think the reason you did not see the same Yao in the two preseason game vs. Asian Games is pretty obvious: Which game is more challenging? To play for your country for the honor to play at Olympics or nullify some free agents who wanna be the 12th man.
