Deck, oh yes that was a 8000-pound (1000 LB for each TMac-less loss) gorilla off his back. It's gotta be a huge relief for Yao psychologically.
Why try to reason with that guy? He obviously hates Yao's guts for whatever reason. Dilemma: Jerry36 hates Yao Ming. Yao Ming isn't going anywhere. Solution: Jerry36 sets himself on fire and jumps off a skyscraper. Problem solved.
I think basically what we have hear is a failure to look at the picture from all angles. I look at what defenses gives Yao the most trouble and has he overcome that. The answer is no. Has Yao improve to where you can go to him in 4th quarter and he delivers. NO What really makes it funny to me is the people on this board are waiting for Yao to take to the next level. I'm here to tell you it's not going to happen. Yao lacks the mental makeup for that to happen. That's what holds him back from being great. All Yao wants to do is fit in and that is why his progress is slow.
I think basically what we have here is some guy who doesn't own a TV pretending that he does. Then when he opens his trap to say that Yao has been mentally weak or not deliverying, he's the odd man out because the rest of us (who DO own TVs) see for ourselves on said TV that Yao has been playing great ever since he recovered from his injury. But once again you won't believe me or the many other people here who say otherwise but that's OK. A lot of people don't believe there was a moon landing either. It's ok.
- outstanding post! Just goes to remind us that there's no use trying to have a rational conversation with the irrational!
Point duly noted...but keep in mind during the Lakers' three-peat, Shaq was hardly "clutch." In fact, he would carry the team for three quarters, and Kobe would raise his game to another notch in the fourth and take the load. That pretty much happened night-in/night-out. You rarely ever saw Shaq crank it up a notch and deliver game-winning shots toward the end of games. Criticizing a big man for a lack of "clutchness" is a little strange. How many critical free throws have great players like Shaq and Duncan missed? Yao's shot left him at the end of the game, but it didn't completely discourage him or render him ineffective. If it wasn't for those two crucial defensive plays he made, we may very well have lost this game. Last year's Yao would've crumpled completely. We can argue all night about how "slow" his growth is, but he's still growing. That's enough for me.
22/21 is not great? what number do you ask from Yao? Yao entered the 4th quater too early because the team was just lost their leading when Yao rested on the bench. This affected Yao's recovery and his shooting as we all know that Yao always shoot badly when he was tired. Yao do contributed in defense. Is there any center in this leage better than Yao? You are not a rocket fan. You are only a Yao hater, I think.
No, you just retreat back to your hole and stop posting after you've realized how incredibly stupid you're making yourself look.
This says it all. You've got to be kidding me. You actually sit around waiting for "trade Yao" threads. I can't figure out if I should laugh at how idiotic that is or cry at how depressing that is for someone like you to be a product of our society.
How is that idiotic? That's the way this board operate. As long as the Rockets are winning everything is fine and dandy. When they lose and Yao has bad game they are ready to trade him.
Guys stop the name calling. Just an opinion different from yours. I think it's all about expectation. If you still expect Yao will be so dominant that he will change the game, you are bound to be disappointed.
