    About ASG
Q: What do you want to do most right now?
A: (Not even sitting down) I want to get out here.

Q: The focus on you by the press has been more than on Tiger Woods, how do you comment on

    that?
A: Maybe the basketball is bigger than golf. I got lucky for getting this job.

Q: How do you deal with the media badgering you?
A: To run away as quick as possible.

Q: Whom do you want to see in Atlanta?
A: Whoever in the Hall of Fame.

Q: What are you afraid most here (in Atlanta)?
A: I'm afraid that you guys will hustle me into the rest room.

Q: (Last question) Why both the Chinese and foreign journalists are targeting on you?
A: (Without any hesitation) Oh well, you guys may need to talk to each other to find out

    why.

Q: Have you been accustomed to NBA yet? (A question that has been asked a thousand times)
A: I haven't been sent to the hospital yet.

    Other
A: How do you comment about Shaq's not being able to have a family visit by your

    invitation?
Q: Maybe my frig is not big enough.

A: How do you comment that Shaq said he's gonna treat you with elbow when you guys are in

    the game?
Q: I guess there is a lot meat on his elbow so that I won't feel much pain when I get hit.

Houston Rockets rookie Yao Ming on what he remembers of Krause when the two met last spring: "He ate twice as much as I did."

    :p

I'm going to get my rook the MVP," Francis said.

Told of Francis' plan, Yao said, "That's touching. I think I'm going to cry."

you can't help but like this guy. that's what makes him so much different from shaq. as i've heard bill worrel say, "this guy's a gentle giant." and this interview proves that he has a great sense of humor too. why is he getting so many endorsements? why is he on the cover of so many magazines? why would shaq feel the slightest bit of jealousy? i don't know for sure, but i know that it's because of characteristics like these that help put the spotlight more on on him than maybe any other player in the nba right now. he may not be the most dominant player in this game, but i'd he say he is the most dominant presence in the media and in our eyes.

Here is one more Q&A at ASG.

someone asked him what his plans were when he retired. "After I retire from the N.B.A., I will probably join the mass media, because I have always been bothered by the mass media," he said. "And if I cannot beat them, I will join them."

    From ESPN Insider:

In the postgame(Vs Spurs) interviews, an Asian reporter asks Yao about speculation that if his games are televised regularly in China, kids will skip class to watch them. He sighs and rolls his eyes—the most exasperation he's expressed at a question all season. "They should put a TV in the classroom," he says.

ATLANTA -- The unofficial "Yao Ming Press Tour" was minutes from commencing at noon Friday, and already something had gone awry. Yao was in his hotel room, looking at himself in his impeccable new suit, when he conceded that he couldn't wear it. His custom shoes had not arrived and, without the shoes, the suit just wouldn't work.

"They told me the shoes got stuck at U.S. Customs -- they were made in Brazil," Yao said. "I thought the league is all-powerful, but I guess we don't own the U.S. Customs, even though my shoes are custom-made.

This one is good too :D

    <b>
For instance, asked about Francis' suggestion that the two of them would form a basketball version of Batman and Robin, Yao, with a grin, said, through an interpreter, "My muscle is not as well-developed as his."

When asked whether that would make him Robin and Francis Batman, he quipped, "I don't think so, because I believe that Batman and Robin are the same height."

Chinese media just asked, in the pre-game interview:

"What do you plan on to do to celebrate/honor Jordan's last All-Star appearance?"

Yao: "Well, I can't pass him the ball... because that counts as a turn-over."

Yao was on the West bench, craning his neck to see Jordan's dramatic shot, shaking his head in amazement, then applauding.

"It didn't feel like an All-Star Game," Yao said. "It felt like there was only one star, and that was Michael Jordan."
