International game plays 20 minute halves, so that's 40 minutes in toal ;)

And I think that game you are refering to were the final's game against Korea, in other game, Yao barely plays since they win easily anyway. :)

only 22 regular games in CBA and the only muscleman there was Menke Bateer (once a backup center in Spurs).

NO - we won't learn anything, I meant that Harris will not take the "peoples" position that you must work the team 4 hours every day so that when asked why you lost you can't say you didn't proactice enough.

about getting better - I meant that Yao will be playing real players this summer in the games, instead of the Asian games where everyone is a foot shorter than him

To those of you who are not familar with the level of competition among Asia teams, China has only one real competition, that's South Korean. Once a while, another team will pop up, but that's about it. What this means is that team China rarely plays their starter more than 20 mins a game, so to say Yao get tired because of all those games doesn't ring a bell at all.

Now, the training is a different story., that's where players got injuried, or wore out. Hopefully, Harris will only coach them basketball strategy instead of running sprint all day long.

    ;)

I hope this is the case because with his and others rest we had Clarence Weatherspoon, Mark Jackson, AND Charles Oakley on the floor together IN THE 4th QUARTER OF A 5 PT GAME!

I don't know what JVG was thinking, but I don't think it is a coincidence that the Rockets blew what little lead they had as soon as those three were on the floor together. They can all play a decent role, but as far as I am concerned if you have slow, slower, and slowest all on the floor at the same time in the 4th quarter of a really important game, I don't know how you can expect to win consistently.

Hopefully in the playoffs(assuming they make it), Yao will be able to extend himself a bit and we won't have to go with a lineup like that again.

Anybody remember the Hawks game? I think we all learned that Yao is capable of shifting it into another gear when needed.

I don't mind Yao's low minutes when Cato isn't hurt. Cato and Mo pick up the slack as good as anyone. It's a little different now, without a legit backup center.

His minutes are limited not just by fatigue but by early foul trouble sometimes.
