FYI that is probably not what is considered "respectfully" disagreeing. But ok, if the reason for losing is 10 TO's in the 4th, and Yao had at least one of those- maybe he's not such an idiot for thinking that 10% > 1%, ymmv.
Its the same as JVGs, he didn't change much. The only difference now is Adelman is not emphazing defense as the center of the universe.
u just cant expect a big guy like Yao to play clutch if u dont feed him for like ......almost 10 minutes He's been fighting in the low post and paint and when he was open, those brilliant PGs failed to pass the ball , if they wanted to.... I was frustrated with the way we maintained a double figure edge, or any edge....we just cant play consistent and keep being aggressive. when things turned out bad , u began to blame the one who struggled the most and hardest on the court. ok, IFS are : we played more landry and less hayes , we called a timeout with 3 point edge , we believe in rafer's incapacity........ however, keep the head up ....we are still above 50%, even if this was achieved over those idiotic teams
Well, I think it's safe to say he isn't "Mr. Clutch". Talk all about the guards not getting him the ball enough but he had 3 point blank looks that are usually money and didn't come through. He was hitting those with ease all game.
No.....No No No Head please !! (Just trying to be sarcastic !!) We should not keep Luther Head on the court at those crucial minutes.....even if he had made 12 to 15 points in the first 3 quarters !!
the point of the thread is not to blame the loss on yao. the point is yao was expected to carry us to the win depite others' poor plays. that's what superstar's about. if role players are perfect, what do you need stars for ?
okay let me get this straight, your ripping yao because he's unclutch the last few minutes of the game when the entire offense is basically built around him the ENTIRE game. you want him to take and MAKE every shot? how about remembering that basketball is a team sport and that other players HAVE to step up. you can pretty much assume before every game that yao's gonna give you 20/10/2 at a good % but come on you cant expect him to go and drop 40-50 points on a team and expect us to win? look at kobe when he drops 40-50 his team barely makes it over the top. trust me when i say its better to have a balanced offense rather than having only one or shall we say two top 20 offensive threats in the league. k rant over.
Luther Head is very selffish, he is just building his stats with paying the all team's lost. In the 2nd quarter of the game vs Timberwolves, I noticed he tried 3 3pt shots after other teammates' hard defense, there was still more than 20 seconds left and more than 2 teammates were still in own's court, but he threw the ball. Before he shot, I felt he wasn't ready and it wouldn't fall, and it came true. His stupid and selffish behavior let Timberwolves climb back quickly. The coach should bench Luther immediately or trade him. By the way, one question, did Yao play through 4 quarter again? If so, that's hard to believe. Please, please trade un-clutch Yao, I am tired of watching Yao playing 42 min and lost the game and clutch fans blaming Yao non-clutch. The scotish Alexander doesn't want championship at all, he just want to earn money and wouldn't pay for a balanced cast.
More often than not, MacLady tends to have a subpar shooting touch in the beginning of a game, which gradually improves through the 2nd or 3rd quarters with his volume shooting. He hasn't been particularly "clutchie" in closing out games lately. I dont think the OP's strategy will work. Rather than keep forcing the feed into Yao late in the game, we should involve other players more in our offensive flow.
this game was not lost by Yao, but by our guards. However, Yao do share some responsibility. For one thing, yao missed 3 shoots in the clutching moment of the game, if he made those 3 shots along with bunch of others ill-advised jackup by the guards we could of won the game. Keep in mind that Yao has been heavily guards, fronted, fouled by defenders pretty much the whole second half, specially in the 4th. you can't expect yao to shot over the defender when for one he was cold, second used his energy on pushing off defenders, third when ref let it happen and yao worry about fouls.
I dont blame Yao for the loss, but I agree with this post to some extent. Anyways, it's funny how YOFs would make TONS of excuses for Yao when he gets blamed but when it comes to TMac they wouldn't think twice to blame him for everything. They STILL blame TMac for the loss to Jazz in the playoffs, considering that Yao was the one who actually got owned by Okur throughout that series. Anyways, it is funny to see how YOFs are scampering to protect Yao by putting up all these anti-referee threads right after a loss when Yao has been unclutch the last two games. Not that I don't blame the referees but it is funny nonetheless to see all the scampering. The same goes for Yao haters and TOFs (though they are lot fewer and less vocal) as well though.
Basically you suck for starting this thread...Yao getting 1-2 shots in the 4th means he's unclutch is the same as expecting shaq to make 3 pointers at the end of the game to dig you entire teams stupid plays(not involving you) out of the hole. The guards were ArTards and starting playing street ball when up 10+ and lost the lead when they realized that they force fed yao which were all turnovers because of their stupid passing and they other teams scrubs killed us cuz of pathetic Guard D. Screw the Rockets last nite man!!!!! I don't ever want to see that rockets squad again...they better be a new breed on saturday and make a statement...eff philly
fact of the matter is, Yao has to be blamed. most of our TOs happens when we try to get the ball to Yao. He is 7 6" 320lb and ye it is soooo tough for him to get any good position. We suck as a team in clutch moments because we are trying to get the ball to Yao. I say just play the way we have been playing the whole game and forget trying to get the ball to Yao. If he gets it within the flow of the offense so be it.
