Has anyone seen any articles or anything else that mentioned how much Yao Ming actually earned last season from his salary and endorsements after taxes and the Chinese government's take? I'd be really interested to see that final number.

Also, does anyone know if Yao's mother is living with him again this season? I haven't seen any crowd shots of her during broadcasts.

I apologize if this has already been covered, but there is no search feature at the moment.

Contract issues often play a role in how a player plays. Look at Moochie, MoT's, etc. play during their contract years.

Is the 50% to China on pre-tax or post-tax earnings?

    He makes more than me...

Of course, a teenager working at Burger King probably makes more than me, so that's not saying much...

Can't respond to your first question but I actually got to meet his parents during the last preseason game versus Denver. My friend and I just shook their hands and said hello. So I'm assuming both his parent are still here with him.

Has anybody else seen them at the games recently? They're about 10-12 rows up behind the Rockets bench.

Yes they are still here and the Chinese takes there cut on a after tax basis. Are you asking how much money he made before tax, the goverments cut, agent fees, bills, and other expenses or the money he made after all that crap.
