http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2004-09-20/13331156714.shtml Long article, the most worrisome message being Yao Ming has sustained injuries which may require surgery, esp. his elbow(bone chips). In fact, he played with this injury, which was more serious than his toe injuries during the Olympics. Few knew about this, to avoid tipping off his opponents. In addition, his ankle and knee ligament may also need treatment. A doctor had suggested that surgery immediately after NBA play-offs but Yao Ming did not want [the post-surgery recovery] to affect his Olympic [participation]. Ye Li is also visiting the same doctor in SF for her injuries. Take this with a grain of salt. But the bottom line is that Yao Ming does not get enough rest. NBA games, Olympics, pre-season games and his commercial activities(he plans to go to NY to promote his book but not his movie in Toronto).
UHHHH... I can kinda understand if we havent got word of Suras injury, but I think as big as Yao is in the press we would hear something already
Oh crap, this is our worst nightmare, yao goes down and we are the magic all over again, in the west...
Thats stupid....He looked all fine after the olympics and work out with Falson the whole time before coming back to the US. Yea he's injured alright.
It seems like Yao's injury is blown out of proportion by Chinese media. Looks more like normal wear and tear.
Exactly....he even said in his autobioagrahy that the Chinese reporters tend to take things out of content just to stir things up. C'mon, if he really was injured and needed surgery and such why he didn't get it done right after the Oympics so it could give him enough time to recover for the NBA season, instead he goes on to work out with Falson doin drills, run laps and weight training the whole time before coming back to the US. Don't really make a whole lot of sense.
Exactly. Guys have bone chips and other nagging little things all the time. It comes with the territory of being a professional athelete.
exactly. can't imagine him running 3-5k on the sany beach while having serious injuries and needs operations.
Oh, FYI.. I am doing some research on how to produce bionic Yao. Hopefully, every NBA team will get a bionic Yao for their center position by year 2020.
