    U.S. 84, China 54
    U.S. 91, Germany 73

While Germany is a much better team than China, it allowed US 91 points. China only allowed 84. In the entire game between China and US, Ming was the crux of China's defense. So can we flat out infer that Ming will have a huge defensive presence in the NBA? Not that this haven't been said before, but the Germany vs US game gave it another perspective.

    Also Dirk's stats were : 8/22 FG, 23 pts, 8 rbs, 0 asts, 0 blks, 2 stls, 3 tos, 34 mins.

Comparing Ming's and Dirk's statistics, I think Ming did a whole lot better. What do you think?

On another note, Ming drew a sell-out crowd of 19,873 while the US vs. Germany game drew 8,327.

"Cross-comparisons" of just two games usually don't make too much sense...there could be a lot of factors that influenced how each game went...

I will agree. 6 blocks and 3 steals are not only keeping 18 points off of the opposing teams scoreboard but they are potential momentum changers that could lead to easy fast breaks.
On top of that Yao Ming had 3 more rebounds.
