I fail to see how this thread is funny in anyway. Yes it's a parody of the Van Gundy thread, and what?

    Kids humor these days shrug

The big question is will Yao be healthy, or will we see more foot problems?

If he can stay healthy and play at the form he was before the injury last year, he can be the most dominant center in the game.

its legitimate to question ole man grumpy's tenure if the Rocks under perform again this year.

 at the poster thinking he's "just" an above average coach. as a coach i'd think you're stretching it calling him pedestrian.

i said he was "arguably" a better than average coach. that would mean out of 30 head coaches in the NBA, one could argue that he is at least better than 15 of them, but worse than probably 10. which ones is yet another argument.

as for being pedestrian, any head coach currently active in the NBA better have more than "pedestrian" qualifications. there are numerous coaches pedestrian or not out of work right now.

I find it fascinating anyone would equate the importance of Yao to this franchise with JVG - even in the short term. Very lame.

So you are saying Yao is more important to the franchise's success in the short tem than Van Gundy is?

haha, that was a very entertaining thread to read. The joke wouldnt have been so great if not for the bashing it started. Van Gundier is just chillin reading all the hilarious responses from both the ppl that dont get it and the ppl that get it and think that theres much to get.

 This thread is a joke. You kow what you want to express?
Yao is great I think , he is a significant player of the Rocket . If in this new season Rocket had not got the good grade , the JVG should be out or I also think it's a good chioce that Yao can go to the other team which can get the champion.
But I support Yao forever, and support Rocket ! In one word Yao is in the Rocket, so I become the Rocket fan !!!
    Come on Yao,
    Come on Rocket !
The champion are your target !

Has he, Van Gundy actually established any importance to this franchise yet?

So, shouldn't the guy who is more important for the success of the Rockets be held more responsible if the Rockets fail to have any significant success?

If the Rockets suck, wouldn't it probably be due to the failure of that the guy expected to be important to the franchise's success?

You are a dumb A$$ for even starting something like this. We should never let this guy start another thread ever.

I said even in the short term. But no, JVG's impact is not equal to Yao's on any level this year or next. If JVG dropped dead now, we could replace him with far less drop-off than anything that happens to Yao.

If that seems profound to you, you really should avoid trying to be humorous at any time in the future.
