I don't know how you can hate someone you've never met and someone who appears to be a cool guy. I think you're a racist personally.

I think some of you guys are going overboard on this. I don't HATE Yao Ming, I just really don't want him on the Rockets. As far as his talent goes, I am as oblivious as the next man, but from what I have read I have concluded that he will at best be a moderate NBA player. In my opinion, that is not worthy of the number one pick. Also, I just made the site as a joke to see what kind of response something like that would get. Can't anyone find the irony in a bear(Clutch) saying, "Only YOU can prevent Yao!". I guess no one's ever heard of Smokey.

I would not like the Rockets to draft Yao Ming because of various reasons. ElGrandeQueso, you should have reasons on the front page why we should not draft Yao Ming. The front page looks kind of stupid because it does not prove your point.

Here are my reasons, I will add them to the site shortly.

-There is a possibility that Yao will be controlled by the Chinese government and the Rockets will not have full power over his basketball affairs.

-Yao is 7'5" and that brings along health problems. Being very physically active at that height causes extreme stress on the knees and back, which can lead to a short career.

-Yao has dominated on the inferior competition of the Chinese Basketball Association and hasn't proved himself among the elite, or the NBA.

-There has NEVER been a greatly successful NBA player 7'5" or taller.

-Yao lacks physical strength and cannot play the position that is demanded of the NBA center.

    Let's go one by one.

The Rockets will not draft Yao without a signed letter from Chinese officials that they will not pull him back during the NBA season.

Yao has had few health problems to this point in his career, and he has played over eight years, I thought.

There has NEVER been a NBA player 7'5'' or taller with Yao's athleticism, range, post moves, shot blocking, and overall talent.

You've never seen him, so how can you say he can't play any position? Forget what you've read. Do you know how easy it is to hate someone that big? Ming's the giant, and we naturally always pull for the underdog. The East Coast media will start to emphasize his flaws now that he won't be going to New York. It's about appealing to your readers, and now that Knicks and Bulls fans won't be betting Ming, they want him to fail.

Then maybe we can hope he has a career as good as David Robinson's.

No offense, but you are crazy man. Do you really think that you can cause the Rockets not to draft Ming, just because of editorials. I'm sure most of Housotn wants him, and that's not even the issue. If the Rockets organazation wants him, there is nothing, but the Chinese government, that can stop him from coming here.

I would say that less than 1% of CC.net BBSer's have ever seen Ming play. People often say that if you haven't seen him play, how can you say anything negative and back it up. Well likewise, how can you say something positive and support that?

Because there have been glowing reports for years and years on Yao Ming, and that "less than 1%" are mostly extremely positive in their reports on Ming. I'd say that's a whole lot more valid than a few negative editorials on Ming in the past couple of months. Everyone naturally becomes more skeptical come draft time, and it's apparent to the East Coast biased media that Yao won't be going to New York. That's a perfect recipe for trying to create some anti-Ming sentiment.

Maybe in a few years we can run a poll.

    Which was more hyped?

Yao Ming being the first overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft

    Or

Enron stock at $90 a share
