If my hearing isnt correct Yao scored 16pts in 17mins ? thats incredible i dont care if he got in foul trouble they lost by 50 anyways. Im sick of people complaining about Ming his team sucks and he still is doing incredible things its amazing that he gets up for these games when he knows there going to lose.

And another thing does anyone have the stats on Jason Williams the #2 pick to see how he compares to Yao>???

Here are some interesting new stats. Peja's Yugo team just lost to Spain. Peja's line?

16 pts, 5 reb, 3 to, 4 fouls in 24 minutes.

I guess Peja is a flop too now, huh?;)

Speaking of flops, according to the same site (fiba.com),
Vlade had 2 pts and 5 fouls. So according to all the
experts, he must be about 1/8 the player Yao is.

Pau Gasol was a star though.

25 pts, 8 reb, 3 a, 4 blk.

Divac played 13 min and fouled out. Guess the international refs don't buy his flopping acts.:D

Careful. You will get everybody started on a "let's trade for Gasol!" thread. I can just hear it now. "Maybe Jerry West would take Mo Taylor or Glen Rice straight up." :D

Good point. I also wonder how many shots he got. If he got 25-30, then we know why he got the numbers.

7-11 FG, 8-11 FT. ( Pau and Ming are same kind of players - high FG%). Do you know Ming likes Pau very much and he hoped to join Grizzly to play "twin-tower" with Pau?

Dang, that killed my theory. :D

Yeah, I remember reading about that. I think I read something about him commenting about NY, CHI, and other cities as well as Memphis. I think he didn't like most because of the noise, or something like that, but I remember him liking Memphis because of that.

Hmm...instead of Pau, he will play with Griffen. Close enough. :D

Are you serious, w&s? You are telling it with a straight face (no smiley).

But that'd be cheesy. Can you imagine the pre-game announcement: Heeeere's the Pauaaaaa Yaoaaaaa Toweeeeers!!

I like your optimism ElVenezolano, but Bateer for China scored 23 points in 24 minutes so I don't think your stat is that incredible.

Interesting that the fact that Yao Ming was the focus of the opposing defense leaving Bateer open wasn't brought up. Ooops. . .

Ming is putting up big numbers in limited minutes, amazing! I wonder what Bateer did in that game?

9pts in 11 mins. Its not over, though. There is some link around here where you can got to the FIBA site and get a screen that updates the stats.

Unreal, Ming has lost his mind tonight! 38 points, 12 rebounds, 8 blocks and 3 assists off of 12 of 15 shooting and 14 of 17 from the line. Oh before people think he did it in garbage time, that was a close game up to the last minute or so and he only played 27 minutes. And he wasn't in foul trouble either, he only had 3 fouls and lead China to the win. Absolute domination.
