With all the talk about Yao needing to get stronger and rebound...etc.. The only thing that worries me about Yao. His tenacity! Sometimes when he gets "dunked" on, he drops his head like a sad puppy and meanders back to the other end of the court. The NBA is no place for softies! I hope he can get some fire under his belly. I do remember that Yao said the he wanted to play with intensity like Charles Barkely.
I wondered if that didn't get to several Rockets. They had their worse performances in the middle of the game. I'm not saying it was THE factor, but it may have been one of them. Yao rebounded much better. 7 in 13 minutes is not bad. He seemed to go for positioning more. The coaches must have pointed it out and worked with him.
yeah, its also the street attitude thats made dirk nowitzki so stellar. or hakeem. this is the worst load of monkey crap i've ever read.
You know guys one way you can look at tonights game is. Its Yao's 5 preseason game. w/ no summer league. He will need a couple more weeks and then you get a couple of injured players back. And I think this team will be clicking everywhere.
Kayman, I disagree. My guess is that you're not Chinese, and if you are, you grew up here. My experience tells me most Asian players say nice things of their competitors off the court when all they want to do is to kick their ass really hard on the court. Being moderate and humble is considered essential in most social settings. And what's wrong with living with mom? Some top NBA players are really close to their moms too. Think Iverson as an example.
Kayman sounds like a classless Jim Rome wannabe. Yao better get better through the whole year. I'm wondering when the Chinese officials are going to get into this...
so far, so good. Yao is looking great. Did you guys see the baseline move/fake. Looked a little like Dream vs. Mermaid. It may not take Ming as long as I thought.
