    Wrong.

He was mostly accurate, and completely accurate about the main point- that Yao sprained his ankle. Look at the thread title- "yao ankle sprain."

He only got the minor details wrong.

The people who bashed him should admit they were wrong.

Does anyone know if this is the same ankle that Yao sprained here before he left for China? IE, maybe he needs to let it fully heal?

    that would be my guess

its too easy to wake up one morning and have it feel fine, then go all out and re-sprain it agin cause you didnt wait long enough.

done it a few times myself.

waa waaa...IM taking my ball and going home... ur mean :p

its a good thing I dont base my decision to contribute to this forum on if the people kiss my ass enough  you were WRONG

It's not a dislocation, like Herrera, which was recurring. And Yao doesn't seem to be a heroic masochist, like Bags, who played until it was bone on bone, the brave lunatic. Heroic, perhaps, in his own way, but not a masochist. A partial tear should be something that can be made close to "good as new" with surgery. What I don't like is him playing with it and not getting it taken care of. He could make it worse than it has been reported to be.

You're a perfect example of what I was talking about. Someone who created his own reputation without the histrionics.

Can Yao still do the lift training? If he can do, the injure is not that bad.

In my research it says that these can be repaired fairly easily with Arthoscopy, and would require about 4 months for it to be FULLY healed.

Why has he not gotten it fixed?

If he did it now, he would still be ready for most of the season.

I'm actually really worried about Yao continually playing on his bad shoulder... ankle sprains are unavoidable but he should really get his shoulder patched up now even if it means he misses a couple months of the season.

according to the papers, the surgery to repair will severely decrease his strength in that arm permanently. Maybe its something else besides what u researched or its more severe version.

I would appreciate it if both pruyen and denniscd continued to add insight to the board. I for one, as a fan, definitely very much appreciate pruyen's work in translating all these articles and in finding interesting photos and images about players from our team. If denniscd has a scoop, I will also appreciate it if he shares it with us.

That's all I have to say.

Peace, and thanks, and GO ROCKETS!

My guess is that the doctors have recommended physical therapy first. If the therapy doesn't improve the injury then you do the surgery since most labral tears don't require surgery. I would think you only get the surgery if conservative treatment doesn't alleviate the symptoms.

Send him to Steve Patterson. He's worked wonders with Deke and T-Mac.

Shoulder or ankle injury I hope Yao will be ready to start next season. I am sure he will take care but I hope he does not rush back to play with the CNT since they are in for the 2008 Olympics since they will be the host nation.

Pryuen don't take off because of some minor name calling. Believe me I have been called worse and in the teaching field I am used to the name calling. :D
