Last year, the Suns beat the Rockets by ONE game. Not to mention that Amare wasn't the reason that they made the playoffs. The Suns DIDN'T beat us for the playoffs, we (and Mr. Mean) lost it ourselves. But even if you assume that Amare was their key player (as supposed to Marbury), they beat us by a grand total of one game. This season however, the Rockets and the Suns record aren't even close. So if you are insinuating Amare is the better player according to that you'd better recheck your logic.

Btw, if we are to use your logic, Yao improved the Rockets' record FAR MORE during the last season than Amare improved the Suns' record.

Given the fact that there are lots of talented PF's in the league, Yao is more VALUEABLE than Amare, IMO.

Ah.. I didn't know Amare was 21! Wow. I was assuming 18 or 19. Okay.

Antonio McDyess with heathy knees is a better athlete than Amare.

OK, so Yao is slightly better in every single category (and 4 times the number of assists Amare has), and his numbers are on an ascending curve...That makes Yao definitely more valuable, with much more potential...

Both will become the franchise players eventually. I love them both!
