In Cat years he'd already be dead. So I'm going to cross that one off the conspiracy list first.

there's been too much U.S. publicity over the past several years for them to get away with lying about Yao's age. I really think we are correct in assuming he's still only 22 years old.

Maybe they're going to try to get him on the Chinese team for next year's Little League World Series.

I'll bet Yao would make decent 1st baseman. Big strike zone, though.

As far as I can remember, Ming even went back to visit his elementary school teacher before he left for Houston. His primary school definitely has record about his age, like his date of birth, which year he started elementary school, etc. I wouldn't go back to my primary school together with the media if I lied about my age.

Yao's mother played basketball for Shanghai until 1988 when she was about 32, so how can you believe Yao is older than 22?
    Sorry, my English is poor.

    Is this topic worth debating?
It makes me suddenly think of one of Yao's word:"I just can NOT understand why so many people focus outside the court instead of inside".
I'll tell you what:I've got a classmate who is in the same middle school as Yao,and he told me that Yao was a famous student in their school and was 2 grades lower than him.My classmate is 23 now,so Yao should not be older than 22 except that Yao began to fake his age before he entered middle school.

So isn't it clear for all of u guys?:D
