Im having problems setting up my wireless connection on Xbox Live. I scanned for wireless networks and found my network, entered my WEP and got connected but I get the "There's a problem with your connection" message. I've tried all the tricks Xbox suggests with no luck. Which numbers should I put in exactly for IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS numbers?

Having these on "automatic" comes up with an IP address not even remotely close to the IP's from my routers homepage, and it doesn't find any DNS numbers. Here are screen caps of my router page and command promt ipconfig /all screen:

    Thank you.

I should also add that last Friday it was working fine. On Saturday it was recommended to me to use the "Restore to factory default" option for the wireless settings and to re enter them because I was having issues with the console in general, so nothing on my router settings have changed (like MAC filtering) to interfere with the network connection now.

Man i had the same issue with mine. The only thing I noticed that helps is to use the internet on a computer or laptop, then try to connect with the xbox. it's like unless the wireless internet is being used, xbox won't recognize it. Or I would unplug my modem for a while then plug it back in and it would work.

I said **** it and just used a wire. Now it works fine. **** sucks dude I know. I'm using the comcast router/modem btw, ARRIS TG862.

Ha... my main problem with that is, my router is in the master bedroom while my Xbox is in the living room. I'd have to run a long ass ethernet chord which the wife wouldn't allow. I think it's worth the extra $20 to find another cheap router to try lol

This may sound stupid as I'm really not to familiar with wireless, let alone much networking stuff, but try changing your 'channel number' (1-12). It could be that a neighbor set up a router using the same channel, interfering with yours.

Try disabling and then re-abling the NAT type setting and see what happens.
