In defense to JoeBarryCarl defense, I actually like the Goldust gimmick at the moment. I know it that it goes WAYYY beyond the line but thats what cool about it, you know he doest have the syndrome and he is playing it off well. Its like in Deuce Bigelow, its wrong to laugh at it but you know its all for a fun.
Actually, my nephew has Turrets Syndrome. That being said, I confess that I sometimes have a sick sense of humor. I can't help myself from laughing when he does that skit.
You should know that the mocking that happens during the Goldust segment happens to your nephew in his life a lot. I find nothing funny about mocking people because of a physical condition.
"I'll be sure to come back when the Lakers beat the Kings in May!" If ya SMELLLLLLL-LA-LA-LA-LA what the ROCK is cookin'. Great promo. Now I remember why I watch wrestling.
That line aboslutley rocked. I wondered if the Rockets won the night before, if he would have wrote something about getting beat by the Rockets. As far as the show, we get 30mins for footage from Smackdown? Isnt there some rivalry between the 2 brands? I actually thought something big was going to happen, but they show that. Actually, now that I think about it, I think they showed it cause of all of the War coverage last Thurs, whoops, my bad. As for the rest of the show, I thought it was OK. It was hilarious when Hurricane came out of the truck and then Austin was hiding in the trunk. Hurricane showing up was a big surprise, and the setup for the tag team championship match for WM was pretty good. I really hope RVD and Kane win, or we'll just see Booker and Goldie tag gold run yet once again.
He wouldn't be laughing if that were his son. Nephew is one thing, son is another. I've seen people with Tourette's, it sucks.
The Golddust skits and the Duece Bigalow piece are obvious exaggerations and stereotypes; that is the reason for their humor. My nephew's symptoms are nothing like that. And you never saw Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf/Chris Jackson acting like that; only an occasion twitch or "whoop", interspersed with being one the the best shooters in the league. The storyline is especially far-fetched with its basis that an electrocution could lead to Turrets Syndrome (which condition they do not even mention by name). If you are only into PC-type humor, I wouldn't know why you are watching the WWE. The WWE has always played to stereotypes. While some storylines obviously go too far (i.e. the Kane/HHH/Katie Vick necrophilia angle), if you are watching WWE just for the wrestling and not at all for the storylines, you might as well be watching the UFC. Next, I bet you are going to say that HLA was in bad taste.
Yeah, I used to laugh at Goldust back in the mid '90s. Guess I'm a homophobic hate-monger. Come on, somebody screaming "****" just out of the blue is funny.
'Mania thoughts anyone? I'm going to be so psyched when Goldberg runs out and gets his first spear & jackhammer on someone. Classic mark-out moment, despite the surprise being ruined. Also, any places in the area one can go and watch that aren't 21 & up? I'd shell out the cash and watch at home, but I'm dirt broke right now. Interestingly enough, some friends and I went to a local Hooter's last month for NWO and they weren't showing WWE anymore because it was "getting too raunchy." Can you believe that? A friggin' Hooter's condemning raunchiness...
According to someone who was at one of those ufc things, goldberg said to watch RAW this Monday, cuz that's when he's gonna debut. Can't wait.
Any of you guys watching Wrestlemania hear Ashanti's horrible rendition of "America the Beautiful?" Good lord, that girl can not sing.
OMG, i just read the reports that Brock tried for a Shooting Star Press? Somebody in here please explain how in the hell he did it and was it impressive? Plus, hearing Roddy Piper appearance was a bit suprise. Well back to the reports.
It's going to be so tight to see Goldberg fighting again! Finally it's confirmed: http://www.wrestlezone.com/articles/51099155.php For those of you that ordered last night's WWE WrestleMania PPV, you know that Goldberg is confirmed to debut in WWE in time for the Backlash PPV. Many people have been asking us when Goldberg will officially show up on WWE RAW or SmackDown!. The answer to that question is live tonight on RAW from Seattle, Washington. Goldberg is 100% confirmed to appear on tonight's show to start a feud with The Rock which will reach it's peak at the Backlash PPV in just over four weeks.
It looked impressive, except he landed square on his face. You could tell right away he was hurt; the landing looked real scary. How he got up to F-5 Angle and finish the match, I'll never know. After it was over, he looked real dazed, and was bleeding out his nose. You could see his face swelling up. His nose had to be busted, at a minimum. I don't know why they have these guys do these crazy moves. Especially Lesnar, after a tiring match (which included a lot of wrestling and holds), to try to pull a move off like this for the first time ever, at the end of a match. I quess they didn't learn their lesson from Droz. I hope he's okay, because you hate to ever see someone hurt, and because I think Lesnar is the future of the WWE. Other than that scary conclusion, it was a good show. The highlight was the Miller Lite girls/Torri/Stacy catfight. (Just kidding, Refman. ). What suprised me the most was the Rock's win. Not that he won, because I thought there was no way the Rock goes 0-3 to Stone Cold at Wrestlemania. But the way Stone Cold so thoroughly jobbed to the Rock. It was a clear win for the Rock, no cheating (other than a low blow a few minutes earlier), no quick roll up, etc., with Stone Cold laid out in the middle of the ring after a third Rock Bottom while the Rock posed for the crowd. Vince must have told Stone Cold that his penance for walking out would be to job (with no face saving) to the Hollywood star at Wrestlemania. Too bad about Booker. I really hoped he would win. I guess they need a heel as champ for Goldberg to squash.
I had red reports about Brock being able to do the shooting star press and if there was ever a night to pull it out this was the night. The main problem was that Kurt Angle was over HALF WAY across the ring! Brock really should have grabbed Angle and drug him closser to the turnbuckle. Very strange that he did not do that. When Kidman does it the person is only a few feet away. It was CRAZY for Brock to try this move with that far a distance. It was because of the distance gap that caused him to really miss. I thank god he is not paralyzed. He landed right on his face. Luckly he DID have his arms out in front of him to absorb much of the landing. But after the match he did look VERY dazed. Probably game himself a concussion with that move. Amazing he was able to do the F-5 to finish the match after the botch shooting star press attempt. I thought the PPV was pretty good. The Vince/Hogan match was very cool. Vince's crimson face was amazing. He was bleeding like a stuck pig! Hell the fact that the Spanish Announcer bladed (after a chairshot that was missed) was hilarious! The only disappointment of the night was the Booker/HHH match. They were capable of so much more in that match in terms of working.
That was a mark out moment. Wish it wasn't so short and that they would have shown a replay, but hey, just enough to wet the appetite I guess.
Yea, I thought it was a pretty cool short moment. He still looks in great shape and we'll see what they will do to build up the match. In all honesty though, i was looking forward for Diesel's return. He is still one of my favorite wrestlers to this day, but I guess they thought it was Goldberg's night and will re-debut next week.
Goldberg was dressed for some cold weather, instead of the black speedo. Any word on what kind of shape he is in?
