Ummm, having lower taxes means you're racking up debt for your kids. There's no "making a law" to get around that. Your kids then will have higher taxes to pay off the interest on the debt. Our taxes today are 15% higher than necessary simply to pay interest. For an understanding of how big that is, you could have a tax cut nearly THREE TIMES the size of Bush's huge cut without cutting a dime of spending if we didn't have interest payments. I'd hope you teach your kids more fiscal responsibility than you promote in government.
For those who are scared to pay more taxes, are people scared to sacrifice to pay for the war, or the horrible debt are nation has incurred? Sorry but it has to be paid for somewhere. I think we have to take responsibility at some point. The top wage earners who Bush gave tax cuts to, and Obama's reversal of those tax cuts would be a great place to start.
Yeah, the poor really missed out on Bush's tax cuts. Taxes under CLINTON 1999 Taxes under BUSH 2008 Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500 Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500 Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000 Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250 Of course, I did just get this in my inbox. It does reference the actual tax charts: http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html I haven't taken the time to run down everything and check the math, but IF this is true, how can anyone say that only the "rich" benefit from Bush's tax cuts.
Spell "Evian" backwards. That or "Lained." It's simply not the truth. McCain '08! (I'm sure he's lied before. But it was to his captors in 'Nam.)
I don't know if that is been adjusted for inflation or not, but even if that vs. cost of living et al has been taken into effect, that's only income tax. The top wage earners don't make most of their money from earned income. It comes from investment and the like.
